Some of you don't understand how NFL contracts work. You can always cut a player and not have to pay him the salary owed on the future years of the deal. That's why guaranteed money is so important in the NFL unlike baseball and basketball.

By nearly all accounts the Cardinals are offering a 2 yeal deal and anyone who says otherwise just has an agenda to spin, IMO.

Fitz and Boldin made Warner as much he helped them. All he had to do was throw the ball in Fitz's general vicinity and it was a catch. Look at Warner in St. Louis,Bruce and Holt, great WR's. In Arizona, Fitz and Q, great WR's. He struggled in NY. Can you name his receivers there? He's good but he's definitely benefited from playing with some ultra-talented WR's. I don't see that in SF.

This article is a load of crap, and the kind of writing no one in the media will dump on because it has become a common trend to have towards the Cardinals and a nonstop comfort zone for the idiots who for the most part are unfamilar with the team as a whole...a team which had them all confused after all the crap they kept writing and saying till the Cards almost beat the Steelers.

I did not even attempt to read the entire thing. The first paragraph gave me the hint that it is another ignorant bash Bidwill article.

Sent him an email regarding his bashing the Cardinals for insulting Warner with 1 year deal by making second year team option. Told him that is just semantics. Team can still cut him and not have to pay his second year regardless.

He helped turn Anquan Boldin into one of the biggest bargains in football.

I think we knew Q was a bargain long before Warner tossed him a pass.

Of course not. They don't negotiate through the media.

Remember all the negative stories going around while they were redoing Fitz's contract? Everyone was up in arms about how cheap the Cards were. Then when the real facts came out, the fans were indignant about how large the contract actually was. As it turns out the Cards weren't actually being cheap and furthermore, Fitz has justified his huge salary. Looks like both sides won.

Let's just take a deep breathe and wait until we have some concrete results before we jump overboard. We may be on the Titanic, but it ain't sunk yet.;)

Great advice. We really do need to take a deep breathe & just see what shakes out here in the next day or so. I think it's such a shame there are so many here ready to run Warner out on a rail. Of course for many of those same folks, that's been the case all season long for this SB qb, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise.

I love the national media, they know so much about our team, our rebuilding process, the FO. (sarcasm). My dog knows more about this team than some pseudo-knowledgeable Yahoo sports writer, his article misses the point, jumps to incorrect conclusions about Leinert's ability, and overemphasizes Warner's contributions to the SB. (Please note: I am not "hating" on Warner, I actually love his play, but to say he was the main/only reason we went to the SB is absurd). We were fine with him, we'll learn to manage without him. That being said, I do hope he signs so we can "manage our post-Warner catastrophe" in a year or two.
