Great pic of Fitz during his first practice as a Card!

If Ben Roethlisberger was throwing that ball Fitz wouldn't have had to work so hard to catch it. ;)
Huh? If Ben was throwing the ball it would have not been Fitz on the recieving end.

I'm pretty sure that's the same catch where the TV cameras show him hauling it in and continuing to run down field.

Last year, we had guys who'd occasionally make that play, but they'd wind up face down in the turf with the ball after diving, catching, staggering and falling.

I think this is at least one of the things that separates Fitz from every other receiver on our roster (except maybe Q).

Why do I hate him? Because I hate to see a fullback as the focal point of an offense, and believe me, he was. He couldn't block to save his life, he caught passes like nobody's business, and he was full of himself.

He was so severely overrated by fans that I hated him by default. Even the best toad on the planet has warts; nobody would ever acknowledge that LC had them. So I went from not being his biggest fan to outright disliking him. I respect his game, but don't think it was good for the team as a whole to rest their offense on the shoulders of their fullback.

I also disliked LC because of his personality I saw at Cards training camp. I used to work it in summers at NAU.

Swann was a great guy to talk to, we had a long chat about the business of the NFL. Lomas Brown was perhaps the nicest guy I've ever met. Kent Graham was an cornholio. Frank Sanders was super cool. Aeneas Williams was a decent guy, I helped him move into his dorm at camp. LC was an arrogant prick, not only to staff but also to many teammates.

Sorry, but I already flagged the LC haters as a small group. The Few.

I'm comfortable with my LC feelings...others wanted to know, so I shared.

It isn't common to hate the living God, LC. Thank goodness Anquan came along to show everyone what a real football player is all about!

I'm very happy with the Fitz pick...with Mike Williams out of the draft, Fitz was a no brainer. Our receivers will be unstoppable. Bryant Johnson will have a lot of people eating their words, I think. He had a very good year for a rookie WR last year but sadly had to bask in the shadow of the Quan.

Those three WRs will terrorize Defensive Backfields this year...I can't wait.

I wish I could have, but didn't have a chance to. Was it great? I've heard it was awesome...and that in practice they were airing it out almost all the time. :)

Oh man it was great. Quan and Fitz were both catching football from Josh and man, both looked sharp. Quan is ripped in the arms, Fitz is taller than BJ and leaner. BJ looked sharp too. Shipp is even bigger in the upper body. Man if we can get this offense on track this offense will be a weapon.

How did Josh look?

I think he'll do okay this year..mostly because of Denny's system. I still am on the fence as to him as an overall talent though. Haven't seen enough of him.

Well Jim Brown of the Cleveland Braowns was the focal point of his team. And about LC's blocking ask Alex Haily of the Cowboys; he once said that he feared going up against LC because he was the best blocking fullback in the NFL.

I think that it is just sour graps on your part that LC dist you up in Flagstaf.

Allan

Just my read on this situation.

Josh looked sharp, confident and in command of the huddle. He was throwing tight tight spirals. I trust Green's judge of talent.

Actually, LC never dissed me personally. I had no desire to talk to him however, because of the way he carried himself.

LC blocking? How in the world could a fullback who was always sneaking out for a pass actually be a good blocker? He wasn't any great shakes in the running game either.

Jim Brown was technically a fullback, but he was the primary running back. If you want to put the position that LC played, he was a Tight End. That's the way he was utilized in the offense. And Jim Brown was a hall of famer after his first 1000 carries.

If there was sour grapes, it is because I never saw the significance in LC's game yet he was annointed in this town as the second coming. In straight contrast to Quan, Q does the things expected out of his position and then does a bit more. LC did a lot of things outside of his position, to the point where our team didn't actually have a fullback and the importance of that position was given up for a guy that could catch 100 5 yard passes. I strongly prefer a hard nose fullback who can knock an LB on their butt, bust it as hard as they can for 16 games and be happy at the end of the season knowing they opened some major holes, and be gratefull that they caught 10 balls that season and carried it 25 times for 68 yards and a touchdown. But that's just me. And it is a bit of sour grapes. Oh well. :)

I bumped into Larry Centers at my work awhile back, the year he was a free agent and re-signed with the Cards. I told him hey whats up, your Larry Centers I'm glad you resignerd with the Cards, I'm a big Cardinals fan. He was very surprised I recognized him and was the nicest guy. He asked what additions the Cards have made and who left.. Then he explained he was deciding on the Giants or the Raiders, before AZ. He really wanted to be a Raider but not as a 3rd down back. Then he invited me to come check out his car and meet his cousin. He went out of his way conversating with me, to the point I had to tell him I have to get back to work now. He refused to let me go before he found something to sign for me, I told him I have stuff signed by him already but he insisted. He eventually found a Card of him in his trunk, signed it and was on his way. I was surprised as to how down to Earth and appreciative to a fan as he was. Thats probably was the nicest I have ever seen a famous person act to a fan. He had no attitude when I met him.
