How many of these coaches got us to a Super Bowl? How many had multiple winning seasons?

Question answered.

How much of that was coaching?

:grabs:

When coahes do great they get credit, when they dont they take the blame. We have all seen the difference with a good coach to a bad coach but apparently the blinders have been pulled.

Seriously, the whiz couldn't coach his way out of a culdesac. He states we didnt make the plays, but he doesn't hold his players or his assistants, esp the POS Grimm, accountable for the players not making the plays.... Head Coaching is about getting the most out of your players and coaches... As far as this poll goes, I would most definetely have liked to have seen what Bugel would have done with 2 more years, that being said, I can definetely see Mr. Beige taking this home on merit....

Yep

All of a sudden Any Reid forgot how to coach.;) Everyones blaming most of this teams losing on Wiz & I just don't get it. IMO it's still mostly on the players. I brought up 10 critical mistakes on an earlier thread those players made Sunday that ultimately cost this team a chance to win.

kinda funny this poll was meant to show whiz isnt our best coach ever but failed miserably. We may suck right now but Kenny still took us to the promiced land.

Wow, you gleaned that? Funny. However, #1, learn to spell(really, spelling promised isn't all that hard), and #2, Whiz took players already here and went to the Super Bowl, that's true. However, 2 years later, with the exception of Fitz, Dockett, AW, and Deuce this team is completely hand pick by Whiz and look what happened. We went from being contenders to being a team no different than the one's coached by Mac. No, Whiz is the Charlie Manuel of the NFL.

Now, let me explain to you why I think Tobin was a better coach than Whiz. For starters, Tobin took a team in complete disarray after the Ryan fiasco and built it up to be a division contender. He took us to the playoffs with less than what Whiz had. I mean, he won 7 games his first season with Kent Graham and an aging Boomer Esiason. Then he drafted Jake the next season and installed him as the starter and after a year of lumps, he took us to the playoffs, legitimately, for the first time since 1975. Of course in typical Bidwill fashion, they blew the team up and we were right back into the toilet and Tobin bore the brunt. Had that team been allowed to remain together, we might have been a competitive team for years to come but noooooo. The cheap ownership couldn't have any of that.

Crap on KW all you desire, fact of the matter is this...

Only coach in franchise history (St. Louis, Arizona, et. al) to lead the team to the Super Bowl and was the bat of an eye away from WINNING one. Nevermind the fact that he's the first coach since the team moved to Arizona to lead them to consecutive NFC West titles.

I'm sorry, I know the "Fire KW" sentiment is strong around here, but to say he's not been the most successful coach the team has had since moving to Phoenix is asinine.

Whisenhunt deserves every bit of criticism he's getting right now for his 6-15 record with a 3-13 run since the last bye week. I'm sure Cowher caught a lot of grief when his teams were struggling '98-'99. Reid's catching it right now from Philly fans.

Sadly I thought CKW had coached the "shoot themselves in the foot" out of the Cardinals but he hadn't.

I swear its like the hand signals from the sidelines aren't play calls but rather telling the players on the field whose turn it is to screw up. I've never seen a team with so many guys who will make 3,4,5,+ok or good plays and then just go completely brain dead for 1 or 2 plays. Just enough to cost the team the game. (Of course they all went brain dead at the same time last week.)

That's because this team has gotten progressively worse since Whiz purged the team of all but 4 players who were there when he first got here. Who's idea was it to go with DA as starter last year then go to 2 rookies? Sure some players weren't his fault(Berry, Warner retiring) but he refused to replace these players with competent replacements. Seems as though the only thing you need on your resume is if you are a former Steeler. I gave Whiz tons of props but he's failing miserably in rebuilding this team. He refuses to address issues such as the OL which has been an issue his entire tenure, and LB. He also runs an artificially flavored vanilla offense. There is no innovation with this offense. I can game plan against this offense. Yes we went to the SB with him as head coach but what that more Whiz or the rebirth of Warner?

I still give him a pass on that one. I just do not believe he brought DA in with the intention of being the number one QB in front of two unheralded rookies. I know current thinking is that Whiz must be an idiot but you'd have to be stark-raving mad to intentionally craft your offseason in that manner.

WE SUCK RIGHT NOW!!! WE HAVE SUCKED FOR TWO YEARS!!!! Whiz still has had more success than anyone in our history and therefore was the best coach.

You can beat the we suck horse all you want, I agree. Coaching could be better, I AGREE!!!!!! still the best weve ever had.

Warner sucked for a while here, we had the right chemistry, coaching and everything at the right time. One thing you can look back at is wwhen whiz came, pretty much every coach he hired was overqualified for the job they were doing. Since then not so much. Hes still the most successful coach in cardinals history and your venom of how much we suck right now doesnt change it.

Buddy Ryan was the Greatest Coach not Whiz.

The only Cardinal coach to have a defense ranked in the top 5 overall in the league and in both points allowed and yards allowed in 50 years of Cardinal football. 1961-2010.

Offense counts as well? Being a maniac takes away points?

Nevermind.

The 1994 defense only allowed 52 third down conversions in 187 attempts! 28%. Opponents only had the ball for 28 minutes and averaged only 15 first downs a game.

Our boys are currently giving up an average of almost 23 first downs a game. Last year it was 21.

Man I wish we could see some defense like 1994 again. Especially since 8-8 might win the Division.

To heck with the Division I'd settle for just seeing them play like that for 3-4 games in row its been so long since we dominated on D.

If Ryan had allowed Buerline(sp) to QB this team instead of Jim McMahon and Jay Schroeder(I need a shower just saying that name), we make the playoffs easily in 1994.

True that. Beuerlein showed he was talented enough in '93 to have QBd that '94 defense to the playoffs but Buddy messed him up and Stevie B was awful in '94. Of course then SBl goes to Carolina and in '99 throws for over 4000 yards and 36 TDs.
