Greatest regular season Cards win??

I remember Cardinals CUPS flying off the upper deck, raining down below. One of the greatest/weirdest/spontaneous ways to celebrate ever.

It was like sitting in a popcorn popper. I haven't seen anything quite like it before or since.

I never saw that game. I was stuck on the other side of the world. I need to try to find out how to watch that game. I can see where you are coming from. That would be difficult to too. Great post.

I’ve seen parts of it on YouTube. Not sure if the whole game is available. Pretty grainy picture, but still a great watch. Especially since Don Meredith was in tears most of the game

A piece of trivia that may interest only me...

I will never forget the '88 game. Being at the game is only part of the story. It was the day I hit bottom. I'll spare you the gory details of what happened at SDS but I have been clean and sober since that very day... I'm coming up on the 33rd year of being clean in about 3 weeks. Thanks for reminding me @wa52lz !

Nothing greater than the ending where the entire stadium stormed the field in celebration

20-42 for the Snake. 5 TOs by the chargers and we put up 16 points. Classic.

This isn’t even close, but not enough old guys to remember this. Monday Night Football back in November 1970 when the whole world watched it, the Cardinals demolished the Super Bowl bound Dallas Cowboys 38-0 IN DALLAS!!! It was week 9 & the Cowboys didn’t lose again until they lost the SB to the Baltimore Colts on a last second FG. Tom Landry said the beating they took on both sides of the ball was the stimulus they needed to turn their season around. For many years, he said this was the worst beating he ever encountered as a player or coach at any level. Still is the most dominant regular season performance by a Cardinal team against an outstanding football team that I have ever witnessed. No other Cardinal regular season win is even close. I wore the same shirt, pants, underwear, socks, and shoes for every game after that hoping for the same results

I remember that game, I was a sophomore at SEMO in Cape Girardeau.

I totally agree, this game above all others was the pinnacle of regular season games as far as elation over a Cardinal win. Us old guys cherish this one. Fourteen years old at the time, I watched the game on our back porch of our farm in Pa. because there was no cable and it was the only place reception was decent enough to pick up the local ABC affiliate with rabbit ears and a slightly snowy screen.

Fourteen years old at the time, I watched the game on our back porch of our farm in Pa. because there was no cable and it was the only place reception was decent enough to pick up the local ABC affiliate with rabbit ears and a slightly snowy screen.

I was 12 & back then I had a paper route in the morning that forced me to get up at 0400. My parents normally allowed me to stay up to halftime of the MNF game & this was the inaugural season of MNF. My Mom fell asleep early, so my Dad let me stay up and watch the whole game. I remember him saying that I may never get to enjoy a game like this again. Boy, was he right. I remember my father introducing me to coffee for the 1st time the next morning. Wow Dad, that stuff really works. I remember him letting me have a cup every Tuesday morning after that, as I never wanted to miss another MNF game. Great memories!!

In 1912 …… just kidding. Sunday’s win was major for 2 reasons. First they needed to break the Rams’ string of dominance if the Cards hope to be a dominant playoff team. Second they need to believe in Kingsbury if he’s going to lead them to the promised land. Despite the number of veterans this team has a chance to sustain excellence beyond this season. Something you’d have to go back your the 70’s to find in a Cardinal team. Other teams were one year aberrations, not annual contenders. This team has that potential, so this was a huge win.

Something you’d have to go back your the 70’s to find in a Cardinal team. Other teams were one year aberrations, not annual contenders. This team has that potential, so this was a huge win.

Like 84 or so we were the last team to beat the Raiders the year they won the SB. I remember lots of comments from Raiders players saying the same thing that game was exactly what we needed.

Yup. Totally agree. Only way a team has sustained success is believing in coach or QB and hopefully both.

I was at the Sunday Night Stanton game and I have to say, walking out of that stadium surrounded by silence was pretty incredible.

I don't remember the year, 2003?, but seriously, after that, none of my wife's family EVER talked crap about the Vikings again. Most of my co-workers and friends quit too. If you recall, the Vikes needed to win that game to get to the playoffs but, instead the hated Packers got in.

Of the ones listed, gotta be the Seahawks sunday night game. The game last weekend was awesome, but I hated the Seahawks sooooo much more at the time than I do the Rams today for some reason.

We also lost out on a franchise QB that day. We actually lost both Mannings on late 4th quarter rallies. Thank God we fell short when the Murray pick was on the line. Or we would still be mired in last place in the NFCW.

that's another great one, led to Fitz being our pick that year (maybe Greene takes him at #1). Best part for me was the Vkings fans fighting each other one the way put of the game in the NEZ.
