Frick and Frack. I check my office pool and think that I'm the winner and I was, but it was for the 4th quarter only. Some idiot gets the bright idea to split it up and have a winner after each quarter. If I had known that, I wouldn't have bothered to play.

I agree BUT...

Everyone is going to look at Belicheat's decision to not kick that field goal in the second half to be one of the all time coaching blunders. That and completely abandoning the run when you were up 7-3.

Surely you jest? Isn't Belicheck the greatest coach of our time?

I KNOW ESPN said that several times this week.

Yes. yes he is. Even with that ENORMOUS blunder.

I can't fathom the level of arrogance when you think you have a better chance converting on 4th and 13th than kicking a 49 yard FG.

I'm a fan of offense but I wouldn't say the low scoring first 3 quarters of this game were boring. I was constantly on the edge of my seat thinking the Pat's were going to get it going and the Giants kept stepping up on defense. It wasn't like it was 3 and out, 3 and out, 3 and out. Great game. The defense battle in the first half only intensified the excitement of the 2nd half. Great, great Super Bowl especiall compared to the SF, Dallas, etc. blowouts that were decided before the seats got warm.

All that great defense and yet both teams converted 50% on third down tries.

That is what makes a defensive struggle interesting. It's not the horribly boring run, run, pass punt but pass, run, pass, run, pass, pass, pass, run, pass, pass, run, punt.

If low scoring games were what the majority of fans wanted they'd play best four out of seven with 15 minute games.

Everyone loves offense but if the Cardinals won the Super Bowl 3-0 we'd all be calling it the greatest game ever.

The game was tension-filled from beginning to end. Every possession was eventful.

The defenses dominated. In the 4th quarter, the two QBs tried to will their teams to victory. Eli won that battle.

Greatest SB of my lifetime. #1.

I'm with you Skkorp.

I've thought about this some more, and it was better than the Rams-Titans game. The other game I'd put up there was the second Dallas-Pittsburgh game in the seventies. I'll give this one the edge because it was close from start to finish and the play was not sloppy, at all, by either side.

That's just because it was the latest.

You're old enough to remember the Colts-Cowboys 16-13 game. Just as good if not better. So was the Jets-Colts.

Greatest Super Bowl ever: Steelers 35 Cowboys 31.

Man, those two Colts Super Bowls had offenses that played much worse than either team tonight. The Colts-Cowboys Super Bowl was probably the ugliest, most error-filled game of them all.

The Steelers and Cowboys were great super bowls. But, the Steelers had the Cowboys down by 18 and there was no real shot at a comeback beyond making the final score look good. Really, in both of them that was the case.

He played well enough to win this game. Thats the bottom line.

If the score was 38-35 then you'd have a point, that would mean the offense wasn't to blame. He missed a lot of passes tonight and got rattled when he was under pressure. Probably one of the worst games he's played in the past 3-4 years.

The Cowboys recovered an on side kick and scored and the Steelers had to hang on to a second on side kick to win. Hardly a ho hum ending.

Oh and don't forget this gem:

Jackie Smith ended up being remembered for committing one of the most famous errors in Super Bowl history. With his team trailing the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-14 in the third quarter of Super Bowl XIII, Smith dropped a third down pass in the end zone from quarterback Roger Staubach. Because of the drop, the Cowboys had to settle for a field goal to make the score 21-17. The Cowboys ended up losing the game by 4 points, 35-31, and Smith retired before the start of the next season.

Super Bowl X was another great game with the Steelers getting an endzone interception to preserve the win.

That was not the greatest in history. not even close. Good game though.

You'll recover, Shane. Get some tat-b-gone for that brady face over your right pec though...that's kind of embarrasing.

OOOOOH....ef the patriots!!! Tom Turdrific!!!
