I am a long time Suns fan who enjoys talking basketball. I remember wathcing Suns games as a child when they were televised on KPHO. My favorite player of all-time is Kevin Johnson but I also enjoyed watching Paul Westphaul, Dennis Johnson and Walter Davis. My favorite team was the Suns of 1993. What a year that was!

Some of my most momerable Suns moments:

-After injuring his right hand Paul Westphaul scores 20 points with his left.

-The Suns set an NBA record by scoring 107 points at halftime.

-Suns upset the Mighty Lakers in 5 games during the 1990 playoffs.

-Barkley seals the deal with a 20 foot jumper over David Robinson in game 7 of the Suns vs. Spurs '93 playoff series.

-A year later Barkley's torches the Warriors for 56 points in '94 playoffs.

-KJ's dunk on Hakeem in the '94 playoffs. Perhaps the greatest dunk by a little guy.

-Tom Chambers gets parallel with the rim as he throws down a monster two handed dunk over defenseless Mark Jackson.

- Tom Chambers rips his old team the Seattle Supersonics for 60 big ones in a regular season game.

-KJ sinks in 21 free-throws against the Rockets.

-Rex Chapman hits a wild off-balance 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the Phoenix Suns into overtime with the Seattle Supersonics.

-Lighting strikes twice as the Suns defeat the Spurs in their first meeting of the 2003 playoffs with a couple of last second 3-pointers off the back board.

-The entire 1993 season!

-The eniter 1993 post-season including that remarkable triple-overtime championship game against the Chicago Bulls.

-Sorry, I didn't mention the '76 Championship Series with Boston becuase I don't remember wathcing it while it took place.

Things that were not so memorable:

-Dennis Johnson is traded for Rick Robey

-Home fans begin to boo Kevin Johnson during game 2 of the 1993 Championship Series against the Chicago Bulls.

-The Suns fail to sign free agent Antonio Mcdyess.

-"John Paxson for three!," Screams Marv Albert as the Chicago Bulls defeat the Suns for their 3rd NBA Championship.

o.k., that's enought for now!

I look forward to discussing Phoenix Suns with you all!

Peace

welcome.

That was awesome. I watched that game in person from great seats. What an incredible memory that is.
I think they were down by 12 with under 2:00 and forced OT but lost anyway. The height of small ball. Rex went nuts and the Suns stole a game in seattle, and almost stole the other one at home.

aloha! give me two coconuts, some sugar, and a big swig of rum.

your recounts of suns highs and lows was great. i WOULD add the triple ot game against the celts in the '76 finals. if y'all have never seen it, you should make it a point to travel to springfield, MA. the HOF has a special kiosk set aside just for that triple ot game with the "shot heard 'round the world." and though we lost the championship, it provides a special little corner for us suns fans.

Welcome to the boards-

I guess I'm the cheap one out of the bunch. I'll take a 6-pack of schiltz, and no phone ringing during Suns games.

You know, that ordering food stuff is great for the Cardinal board, but wouldn't it be nicer if we tried something different for the Suns board? :D

PVasquez, I'll take a 2004 BMW Z4, power everything, DVD player and a 10 year warranty!

(Better than a steak, my friends!) :D

If you are going to order a car Chap, why settle for the Z4?

Go for the V8 if someone is buying. :D

Geez, you're right, I forgot about that one. I guess I tune out cars that are at least 160,000 dollars. :p

It's been awhile since I've been in a convertible Chap. I fully expect you to swing by the valley in that car and throw me in there for a ride. :)

Also, Pvasquez, when you go by Outback for green machine you can pick me up one of the Victoria's filets, baked potato with everything, salad with tangy tomato dressing, and... oh what the hell... throw in an order of cheesy fries please. I'll take that for dinner. :)

I didn't realize joining this board would be so expensive!

Let me make sure I got this right:

a bmw z4
an order of prime rib
a couple of Dos Equis
a fruit smoothy
a bottled water
two coconuts with a pinch of sugar and swig of rum
a 6 pack of Schlitz
a 16 oz prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes and a salad
a victoria filtet
and a v-8

Would you like any fries with that order?
