And McElroy promptly takes the scrubs in for a TD.

Impressive last drive but wow was that final play stupid. I think he completely forgot how much time was left which is kind of hard to do.

LOL. Didn't McNabb mess up on the overtime rules and so the Eagles ended up with a tie in 2008?

I felt bad for him on the long pass at the end of the game.

Should have been 6. I was thinking; 'hey this kid can pl.... oh nevermind he just ran out the clock and threw a pass when he was 10 yards past the LOS.'

Still made some decent throws though.

What I came away from today is he will make a decent backup for a long time but I never want him starting long term. He doesn't have any arm strength to speak of.

That seems to be something you see a lot in the NFL from young QBs like McElroy. Its like they get so caught up in not giving up that they forget where they are on the field.

I said the same thing before the draft. He'd be a perfect guy to have on your bench for 10 years. Smart but lacks the physical skills. He'll know your playbook inside and out and won't kill you if he has to play a quarter or two.

Just think if you could put his brain in Vince Young's body. FrankenPeyton!

You got this from one pre season game? Really, that is freaking hilarious. I am not saying he will be more, but a judgement based on one pre season game is just ....... Wonder what people said about Brady after his first pre season game.

Well considering you can see arm strength in a flag football game I don't know why it would be such a hilarious thing to think you can make a judgement on that during a pre-season game. Its not like I said I don't think he can't understand a playbook or anything. His arm strength is like Max Hall's no matter how much he works at it, it won't improve enough to be an every day starter. Easy to see that in a quarter of a pre-season game let alone 3 quarters.

Jeez....It's not like McElroy played his first ever game of organized football Monday night. The guy won a National Championship at Alabama and started 26 games for the Tide. I'd say there was a little more to work with than your one pre season game.

As for Brady:

There probably was some guy on a Patriots message board in 2000 saying that 31 teams were going to be kicking themselves for not drafting Brady and that he should be the starter because he's way better than Bledsoe.

And he probably brings it up every chance he gets.

He was also the smartest qb in the draft, which is surprising seeing as how hes from alabama :)
