Coming from someone who prolly still stinks Niklas is a stud. Lol Guess I was wrong about that as well :p

In all seriousness our offense is based on the award having big games, so expecting a 2nd string TE to be much of a contributor is a pipe dream.

How about Humphries failure to even be activated last season? Pipe dream Bucco?

DJ has nothing to do with Niklas having almost zero impact for 2 years & being relegated to 3rd string.

DJ is going to start for the Big Red & will probably play more plays in just 2 games than #87 will all year.

Yesssssssss, this is yet another milestone step for the Cards. No one has ever turned down a 4 year deal from another team to come play with the Cards, (let alone 2 of them by the same guy). Then to come back on a 1 year prove it contract speaks volumes for how this team is poised to join the 'elite' ranks of those who challenge for the SB with regularity. This is the kind of stuff that creates dynasties in the NFL. Stand by fans, this ho-hum off season is about to take on some very serious and carefully planned roster moves, each designed to fill a hole, or create super depth. I can feel it in these old bones people----------

This.

Am I the only one who thinks he made a bad decision. TE's with his injury history and his age, usually don't turn away from 12 mill guaranteed.

It's great for the Cards but, I don't care what kind of year he has, there's a very small chance he gets anywhere near that kind of offer next year. Good for him though in just not going after the most money. That's rare these days.

I agree, it's a very risky decision by him to stay here on a 1 year deal as opposed to the $12M guaranteed that's been reported. Is the FA TE market expected to be better or worse next year though?

I mostly agree. If it's just about the money then he made the wrong choice, but if it's about winning a title and being on a team that he loves being on then home run for him.

He is less than inspiring & so is the signing.

Stupefying. 4 years $12 million guaranteed ignored. He must like his kid's school district.

it's so outrageous that I kind of doubt the veracity of the report. who reported those numbers? His agent, to make his client look better because there weren't any good offers? Does ANY TE get 12 million guaranteed who isn't named Gronk, Graham or Thomas? Especially ones who in the last three years has averaged 350 yards per season?

Part of me agrees with you but there are several teams throwing around stupid amounts of money this FA period. Look what the Eagles gave Chase Daniel after giving what they did to Bradford. Just one of many examples.

true, but QBs are always treated at a premium price. An average (being generous) TE? I don't know... smells like spin to me.

this is more than taking less money, this is taking 3 less years of job security. Amazing he would do that.

I wonder if he had some inside info about Chandler Jones?

Watching a replay of some coverage on NFL Network and Rapaport is saying this trade has been in the works for a few days... so it's possible Keim gave Gresham a heads up on what was likely to happen.

I don't see the connection. Maybe I do but it seems flimsy that Jones will be the launching pad to a S B
