A three year deal is smart for the Grizzlies. I don't see Darko as a "I have a long contract, but I'm still gonna work really hard" type of player.

Good move for both sides. If Darko is a bust, the Grizz are rid of him in three years; if he does well for himself, he sets himself up for a big payday.

Now's the perfect time to revive the Marion for Miller/Swift/Stoudamire scenario. The Grizzlies have no conceivable use for Swift anymore.

So the Magic do a sign-and-trade with Lewis in order to create cap room for Milicic, but he leaves anyway. They lose both Milicic and Hill and add Lewis. Not sure they have improved all that much.

Jameer Nelson
Kenyon Dooling
Hedu Turkoglu
Rashard Lewis
Dwight Howard

Tony Battie
Carlos Arroyo
Trevor Ariza

Thats not too bad.... They should contend in the East

sorry, i have to disagree. that's just not that good of a lineup. nelson is still unproven and undersized. dooling sucks. hedu is best served coming off the bench and rashard has never been a #1 banana and howard still has growing to do.

Long-term yes, but hardly next year.

The biggest names (Ray Allen, Zach Randolph, Jason Richardson and Rashard Lewis) all went to East.

Only Jason played for a playoff team. I think all the difference between playoff and non-playoff teams will widen.

That is what I thought. Other than Howard, it is just a list of "just a guy" players.

Gotta play Rashard at sf in the East. The Magic need another big man or it's Tony Battie starting next to Howard again.

Zach Randolph seems like he would have been a perfect fit beside Howard.

Rashard is like the perfect PF in the East alongside Howard.

You don't need 2 bigs that clog the lane.

Howard
Lewis
Turkoglu

That's possibly the best frontcourt in the East.

And Darko is still a bust. Amazing how long you can get good contracts just on unfulfilled potential and size alone.

Still not better than Prince-Rasheed-Webber/McDyess, but I hear what you're saying.

Bosh/Bargnani/Whoever is still MILES ahead of that collection of mishmash on Orlando's front line. And that doesn't even take into account that they're back-court is mediocre AT BEST. That team's taking a step back this year IMO.
