It was possibly their best defensive game of the year, certainly against a strong playoff team. Even without Gasol and Wells, the Grizzlies are a pretty good team and the Suns held then to 84 points on 35% shooting.

Barbosa stayed out of foul trouble and scored 17 points. He got dinged on a couple "palming" calls (I get the impression that only rookies get called for that), but still showed great skill at getting to the basket in the half court.

Lampe had 3 rebounds in 12 minutes to go with 2 of 4 shooting (including a great pick and roll with Barbosa). He played pretty well on defense including blocking a shot.

Casey actually scored in double digits on 3 of 3 shooting (2 beyond the arc) and couple of free throws. Casey also brought the ball up the court and only had 1 turnover in 25 minutes. It was one of his better games.

There has been doubt that the Suns could play consistent defense over 48 minutes, but they came pretty close.

Wells & Gasol are two of the best grizzlies offensive players. Still, the Suns can only beat the guys that actually play. They did a good job last night.

BTW, I do think that Hubie Brown has done a fantastic job with the grizzlies, but look at the talent he has to work with. He has more talent in his second and third string players than Jerry Sloan has in his starting lineups. Just thought I would try to get the last word in on the coach of the year award. :)

Most of the articles I've read indicate that Sloan will win it.
