How badly do the Bears want a real QB next year?

Thanks to Grossman, the Manning family will have a SB ring in their possession....

As I said in another thread the Bears should go after Jake.

I knew this would happen. So many were picking the Bears when in reality Grossman just sucks! The D is good but overrated and the Bears Offense is kinda blah.
I love it, I hate the Bears and their fans (after that MNF game they were all cocky)

The bears did have Boise's last QB on their roster but cut him. He was even one of the most accurate passers in college history. I guess they chose the right one.....

So that he can teach Grossman?

they already have the younger Jake why go after the 30+ year old Jake?

Start Griese in that game and it's a whole different story, IMO.

Grossman is terrible. Terrible.

The Bears have a long history of bad luck and choosing lousy players at the QB position. The last decent one i can remember was Jim McMahon and before him it was Bobby Douglas. Kinda like the Card's luck at RB.

Grossman IS Jake. With less personality.

Grossman didn't lose that game by himself. The Bears play calling was gutless. Receivers couldn't get open and couldn't hold on to the ball when they did. The entire Bears offensive scheme is so simple, Boise State would stop them.

And that defense was a joke. Take away Urlacher and you're left with 10 players who can't tackle.

The reason the play calling is gutless is they don't trust Grossman. That run on 3rd and 4 when the game was still really close proved that and then Rex reinforced it with 2 picks one of which was borderline funny that he actually thought he could lob a ball like that and get away with it(the one for the TD).

If you're an OC with him as a QB what do you do, you have to be conservative.

You're right, of course, but I'm having a great time pummeling the Bears and their fans. Crown their asses now!!

Grossman was bad but he will be the sacrificial lamb. Honestly the Bears D got shredded in that game.

Who wants to trade Edge for Addai? Oops... Oh well, I still think Edge will be productive, but that game had to be killing him. Hopefully the Cards can bring him there, and he'll be vindicated. Grossman is delightfully horrible, it is just so funny seeing pretty much all of his passes from about three yards or less, and with every long throw being a game of 500. Seriously, if the Cards would have kneeled three times and punted out of bounds every time against the Bears in the second half, Rex would have found a way to blow it the way things were going. I loved when Simms made a comment about Grossman starting to get in a rhythm, followed by him throwing an interception like 3 plays later. I kept thinking throughout the game, Denny was right. The Bears were who we thought they were, and we let them off the hook.

The offensive game plan was a joke.

The execution of the game plan was almost as bad.

The defensive game plan was even worse.

The execution of the defensive game plan was poor, the tackling worse.

Better team game planned right, better team executed their game plan right, better team tackled, better team won.

Alot of my friends, some media 'experts' who over anylyze to death. Stats and all that crap. That's why I think stats are overrated. The Bears D was supposed to be this domination machine.....hmm....they got schooled, plus who didn't know Grossman was a horrible QB? Everybody but Lovie Smith apparently

Mariotti on Rex ...

Can't ignore Grossman's shortcomings

February 5
Chicago Sun-Times columnist Jay Mariotti: "So, who's ignorant now? Rex Grossman called out the analysts who wondered why he throws hideous interceptions and fumbles simple snaps, then responded in his defining game by throwing hideous interceptions and fumbling simple snaps."

I don't think the guy puts in the work he needs to during the week. He looks lost. Physically he has the tools, it's in the mental dept. that he is lacking.
