The rain did a number on most of Thursday's sports schedule, but boys tennis got its match in, and of course, boys volleyball was secure inside.
Here are the highlights from Wednesday and Thursday.

Chillicothe 3, Grove City Volleyball Club Westland 0: The Cavaliers swept it 25-17, 25-15, 25-13. Mercer Cutright had 14 kills, Carter Dunfee had six, and Jeremyah Teurman and Jace Copley each had three. David Rourke had 24 assists. Mercer Cutright had four aces, Jace Copley had two, and Carter Dunfee and JB Maravilla each had one. JB Maravilla had two blocks as did Mercer Cutright, Jace Copley had one. Isaac Herlihy had 13 digs, while Mercer Cutright had eight.
The Cavs return home on Tuesday to play Westfall Varsity at 6 p.m.
Chillicothe 5, Miami Trace 0
At No 1. Noah Flores defeated Reilly Cambell 6-0, 6-0.At No 2. singles Elijah Yandilla defeated Titus Grim 6-0, 6-0.At No. 3 singles Benjamin Yandila defeated Zach Gallagher 6-0, 6-0.At No. 1 doubles Malachi Upshaw and Yohan Abreu defeated Levi Morrison and Slade Strider 6-2, 6-2.At No. 2 doubles Lyric Graves and Aeden Montalvo won by forfeit.
Paint Valley 7, North Adams 5: The visitors took the early 1-0 lead at the top of the first, but when the Bearcats came to bat - they got the lead and held it in the nonconference matchup. Sophia Stauffer hit a homer to right field to tie it up at her first at-bat. Delainey Mannion singled, followed by Kasarah Cantrell getting walked. Mannion advanced to third on a passed ball, and Mannion also moved up to second. After Kyla Littler walked, the bases were loaded. Lydia Hamilton then walked, which brought Mannion home. Cantrell was out at home after a fielder's choice. Then Haley Burton brought Littler and Hamilton home on a single to make it 4-1. Paint Valley would score three more in the second and then held off North Adams who scored one in the second inning and three in the fifth.
Cantrell earned a complete-game win, giving up five earned runs, and struck out four. She also went 2-of-3 with a run and a double. Stauffer went 2-of-4 with the homer and two stolen bases. Mannion went 2-of-4 with two runs and a stolen base.
Chillicothe 7, Miami Trace 2: Alyssa Dudley went 3-of-4 with two runs and drove in four runs in the win. She singled in a run in the first inning, but a big double in the second scored three of the runs. The Cavaliers scored all their runs in the first two innings. CJ Rittinger pitched another gem, striking out 12, allowing six hits, two runs and two walks.
Waverly 15, South Webster 6: The Tigers fell behind 3-0 after one, but boy did they ever make up the deficit. Ava Robertson had a standout night, going 3-of-4 with two runs, but also drove in five runs. Addi Hudnell and Caris Risner each drove in two runs. Hudnell went 2-of-4 with three runs. Risner went 3-of-5 with one run. The big inning for the Tigers was the fourth when they scored nine of their runs.
South Point 9, Piketon 1: Aubrey Heath went 1-of-2 with a run, a double and stolen base. Jaylin Forbest went 0-for-0 with an RBI, two walks and a sac fly.
Logan Elm 6, Zane Trace 2: Brynn Wipert went 1-of-4 for a run and stolen base. Maddison Will was 1of-3 with a run and a stolen base. Reagan Arthurs was 1-of-2 with two RBIs.
Gallia Academy 5, Chillicothe 7: Starting pitcher Mason Brown got the win, going 5.1 innings, giving up five runs (one earned) along with six strikeouts. Tay Harris closed it down and got the save, throwing 1.2 innings, giving up no hits, runs or walks and had one strikeout. TJ Barr led the Cavs with a 2-run bomb and a double to finish 2-of-2 with three RBIs and a walk. Kayden Aftka had two hits and one RBI.
Piketon 12, West Union 0: Wayde Fouts went 2-of-2 with two doubles, a run, two RBI, and two stolen bases. Tristan Boedicker went 1-of-2 with an RBI and a stolen base. Gavin Blanton was 1-of-2 with two runs and a stolen base. Zack Hannah went 1-of-3 with a run, an RBI and two stolen bases. Mason Roberts got the win, going five innings, with one hit, one walk and striking out eight. He also went 2-of-2 with a double, a run, an RBI and a stolen base.
Westfall 10, Grove City Christian 1: AJ Pluta drove in three runs, going 3-of-4 with a double. Cash Conrad went 2-of-4 with two runs, two RBIs and a stolen base. Trent Gardner was the winning pitcher, going 6.1 innings, allowing one hit, one run (0 earned) and striking out four.
Huntington 4, McClain 2: Seth Throckmorton had a two-run walk-off homer for the win. he went 2-of-4 with two runs, two RBIs and a double. Frankie Hirsch and Matthew Jordan each went 1-of-3 with an RBI. Brayden Elliott got the win, with a complete game, where he gave up three hits, no earned rund, one walk and struck out 10.
Zane Trace 6, Logan Elm 3: Pierce Manson got the win, going four innings, giving up three runs (two earned) and striking out five. Josh Young earned the save with three innings pitched, giving up four hits, no runs, no walks and three strikeouts. Lukas Oiler went 3-of-3 with two runs, two RBIs, a double and a triple. Ezra Rippeth went 3-of-3 with a run, two RBIs and a stolen base.
