And here I thought the Suns would lose every game without Nash by 20 points or more, or so I was told. Or maybe it's because Nash was still on the bench. I'm sure if he was sitting in some other team's locker room and not on the sidelines cheering on his teammates, the Suns would have lost this one and and every other remaining game on their way to a top 3 pick. Or so I was told.

But the thing is, improbable games like these do happen every now and then. On the road, on the second night of back-to-back, missing two starters and team leaders, against a strong opponent, trailing most of the way, a team can find a bit of a rhythm and make plays when it matters the most. I've seen this happen to the Suns many teams, so it's a good feeling to be on the other end of that outcome for a change.

I don't remember the "by 20 points or more" part but yes, some of us believed this team was bad enough that they could lose every game without Nash. Their play this season and the play during the Nash era when Steve was unavailable made that a real possibility. I will also point out that we are playing quite a bit better now than a few weeks ago when this conversation was first held.

I'm not surprised that we won a game without Nash, an uninspired team falling to a much worse team happens often enough that it's not a shocker when it does occur. I am close to shocked that it happened for us against one of the better teams but I'll take it.

There is no way anyone would have projected a win over the Clippers without Nash and Hill with limited minutes from Gortat, in their house a few weeks ago.
When the Suns were good.....in the good ol days, they sometimes play down to their opposition and lose to horrible teams too.
Still tough schedule ahead, but if they sneak into the playoff, they might just pull a GSW as an 8th seed.

Not sure how this didn't make the NBA or ESPN Top 10:

Oh wait, yeah I do. The NBA doesn't want to make its Kia poster boy look bad.

All the hype over that nowhere-near-as-impressive-as-portrayed slam that won him the dunk contest may well turn out to be the worst thing that could have happened to Blake. He seemed motivated to become an all-time great but now seems to believe he's all he'll ever need to be. JMO.

ESPN didn't even show this dunk in their highlights. Griffin jumped and then Morris dunked on him in a clear facial. Griffin tried to play it off like he wasn't involved in the play but he was and clearly dunked on. He's become a lot cockier and arrogant and I'm glad someone put him in his place.

It's not about predicting it. It just seemed extremely improbable to me, even two weeks ago, that the Suns could lose every game, or almost every game, without Nash, because every now and then games like the Clippers game happen. Teams don't generally go on 23-game losing streaks no matter how bad they are. And even a single win like this would have dispelled any notions of getting a top 3 pick because there was so little room for error.

Suns really competing, fighting (for real), and caught back up in yet another game, tonight on the road. This club is playing with their hearts on a night without Nash or Hill. Now Gentry has them going hack a Blake for free throws, he's basically airballed two of them in the fourth.
man this guy must struggle to make free throws more than I thought then. i don't watch him very often, typically the only time I see im is dunking. when dallas played them earlier in the year he missed several free throws in the 4th quarter and at the end of the game didn't even want the ball...

Gentry saw the air ball, then Blake barely drew iron on the second attempt. The Suns were on a swing, I am usually the first guy to start dissing Gentry, but the whole vibe of it worked. It was a frustrate the crap out of the Clippers vibe, the hack job was some icing on the pissed off cake. :) That was a fun game to watch and I aint down with the foul the shady free throw guy.

I enjoy that part of the game. For me, and this is just my opinion, free throws should be cake for any NBA player. these guys get paid millions of dollars and are all the best in the world. The key for the great NBA players is to find the parts of their game that they are weak on and turn them into a strength over time. most nba players work on their craft that they are great at and don't work on their weaknesses beacuse they don't want to face them.

if they can't make free throws, they can't get mad because their opponent is exposing their weakness. I remember when matt barnes was crying about the clippers dunking on the lakers and celebrating. too bad, if you don't like it stop them. same for shaq and blake griffin, if you don't like it make the free throws and people will stop. not that blake was complaining, i'm just sayin.
