Our Regular Season is half finished and we are 5-3, again. September and October are past. November has begun. December and January are still far away. You could say that we are on pace to finish 10-6, but I don’t see it that way. I see us as one game shy of 6-3 and we need that game. I don’t care about double digit regular season wins, not this week. All we can do is take the game in front of us, and considering our lack of success in three out of four games played in front of me, this game matters a lot.

We have proven we are capable of winning against good teams on the road and losing to teams below .500 at home. We can run for 170 yds in one game and give up over 200 rushing yards in another. Five passing touchdowns or five interceptions, we have seen both. Our opponents so far are a combined 32-26 against the rest of the league but they are 3-5 against us. Although our remaining opponents have a combined 22-42 record against teams other than the Cardinals, all that matters is how we play.

What kind of game will we play this Sunday? I think we will be in control. I look for a complete sixty minutes where we are better on Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. It does not have to be a blow-out, it has to be a victory.

Dan, I believe we will see the best home game yet. As you know every game counts the same. But this home victory will be huge for us. Going 6-3 is all we can expect. We could fall flat on our faces, but I expect a huge win this week.

I hope our players read your post Dan. The season is full of peaks & valleys and we are never as good as our last game or as bad. 1 game at a time baby!!!

Since the Cards went 25 years between 5-3 starts I'm really happy to be 5-3 for the second year in a row. Sure beats the heck out of starting 3-5, 2-6, or 1-7 like they did in successive years with Denny Green.

But you are right, this year's team is very unpredictable. Time for them to step up and show some consistency.

Duck, you put 5-3 against historical record and it is awesome. How many years would we dream of being above .500? I used to set my hopes on making the playoffs. Now I hope to win our Division and see how far we can go. With some consistency, this team can show improvement over last season. That is the other goal I hope for each year.

How awesome is it that now when the Cards lose it is an upset instead of when they win?

How awesome is it to see the Cards go on the road and beat both the Giants and the Bears- in the same season?

How awesome is it to have other fans congratulate you instead of console you on Monday?

They may be inconsistent but after all those years of suffering at SDS isn't it great that we have a real, competitive, NFL football team?

Well, I'd like to look at is as half way to our goal.....winning the division. We have 4 divisional games left. Win those 4 games and you can chalk up another West Division Title.

That would give us at worst a 9-7 record. It would hand the 49ers their 6th lost which would mean they would have to win the rest of their games to finish ahead of us.

To quote Singletary, " Can't do it. Won't do it."

In years past the hopes of making the playoffs were worse odds then hitting any Mega jackpot in the lottery. :D Now the hope of winning the division (especially the NFC West) is akin to winning a buck on a scratch off ticket.

Very Very Awesome.

Much better but I still sense a "man have you earned some happiness for all you have been through" tone in their voice. Plus the Cards do still like to torture us from time to time. :)

Very Very Very Very Great/

I totally agree. Being a season ticket holder, I WANT THIS TEAM TO PLAY A DAMN GOOD HOME GAME FOR A CHANGE!!

Enough said.

Having seen the Chiefs go through this way back when Marty first came to KC, the cards follow their script almost exactly, although after making it to the SB that all kind of went out the window but some things are the same.

Their first 2 or 3 years to becomming a good team they sputtered some, mostly on the road.

This Cardinal team is more talented by far their coach is I think much more likely to win it all.

This team has beaten back the SB loss blues.

A team that can do that is dangerous, very.

I haven't heard nearly as much as the Super Bowl loser jinx from all the national pundits. Now if the team can just get their act together for a HOME game for a change, I'll be a happy camper.

Good stuff Dan-----I believe that the Cardinals will be focused this week because it is a division game. No playing down to the opponents level this week. I believe they have corrected that situation by suffering the loss they did to Carolina. I look forward to a solid game in the nest on Sunday.

Much as I hate to give Troy Aikman credit for anything, he did point out that the Cards are a very good big game team. This game against Seattle is a BIG GAME for the Cards.

The last time we had an embarrasing loss like the Panthers (Colts), we won 3 straight. If we can just continue that trend, we will wind up 11 and 5. ;)
