Sigh. Gee, any attempt to compare anything happening in today's US society with Hitler and the Holocaust is just wrong and I think you know it. At least, I hope you do.

Gay bashing saddens me. I confess I don't know how to fight it anymore. The rise in Christian fundamentalism in the United States has fueled a new spate of intolerance. As a Catholic, a Christian, I am embarrassed.

As ouchie stated well, I don't believe anybody chooses to be gay.

How many ASFN members are gay? We have over 3,000 registered members. Could we have, say 250 or so gay members? Yeah, maybe. Who cares? I don't.

In this state, we had a popular gay Republican US House member (Colby) and a popular gay Republican mayor of Tempe (now retired). We have a wildly popular two-time gay Democratic Governor (Janet Napolitano), and a probably gay Democratic Attorney General in Terry Goddard. All of the aforementioned seem to be good people doing their jobs well. And the voters didn't care that they are gay.

I don't think Hardaway represents anybody but his bigoted self.

Really? I didn't know that to be the case.
She's not technically out, but it's common knowledge especially among "old Phoenix" types.

My step-Dad used to work with Napolitano here here and there on things and has said nothing but good things about her both professionally and personally.
