So cap space is irrelevent? I'm confused - I don'tthink that's what you're saying because if that's the case, I'd rather have Edge and Edge - besides - do you guys think Travis Henry isn't looking for at least the same signing bonus that Lamont Jordan got(11 million)?

Personally I think the Raiders were pretty damn stupid to pay that much for a RB that has never started, but yes I bet Henry would want that much or at least close to it.

No its not irrelevant. But if the team could make it work I would rather have the two players rather than the one. Quite frankly Cheese I think you have gone loony if you would choose to just have 1 stud RB. Over another slightly downgraded stud RB, and a stud MLB!

That's not what I'm saying Shane - but to think that Henry will want SOOOOO much less money than Edge is foolhardy I believe. If the team could make it work - and with a lot of guys taking up cap space who arfe worthless, why not go after both Edge and Edge, especially in light of the fact that the MLB Edge has completely out priced himself and likely is gonna take a much less ocntract(ie - no 10 million dollar bonus, which means more room for Edge).

I gotcha now. I do think that Henry would command nowhere near the bonus money that James will but thats JMHO!

well now that we're good again - TRAVIS HENRY SUCKS!(just kidding - I'd be stoked under ANY scenario in this thread - sadly, I don't think any of them are gonna be Cards.)

Hartwell wanted a signing bonus of 9-10 million and is still looking for someone to pick up his asking price. I wonder what the Cards are offering him ?? I am thinking that it is somewhere in between 3.0-4.0 million a year. With us under the cap still we should be able to pick up James and Hartwell. James would have to sign for 3-4 million the first year and it would have to be back loaded, but can easily get done. With 8-13 million off dead weight and another 4-5 million for the salary cap going up we should have another 13-18 million next year.

If we were going to give Henry 3-4 million a year you might as well try to sign James for 6 Million a year. That extra 2 million could be the difference in our entire running attack.
