Plot Summary: Mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar Gina Carano ("American Gladiators") makes her feature film debut, starring and performing her own high-adrenaline stunts. I really enjoyed this movie. I never would have watched it had circumstances not dictated it as my only choice--wanted to catch an early movie as I had an appointment near a theater, and nothing else popped--and I never JUST watch movies for eye candy.

Well, as far as eye candy goes, that alone is reason to see this movie. WOWZA!!! How in the heck can she work out that much and still have that much of a rack!

Anyway, based on its other merits, this movie stands up as well. The one thing I really loved were the action sequences. None of that stupid, headache and confusion inducing shaky camera BS. Aside from characters clearly taking more punishment than a real person could, which is endemic to all action movies, the fight scenes were incredibly realistic. I give this a solid 3.5 out of 5, and I'm a harsh critic.

Kind of like a Bourne movie with a chick as the lead character. Although it's nowhere near the level of a Bourne movie, it's close enough to be entertaining. Carano isn't going to win Best Actress but she would kick the crap out of any other actress in Hollywood. Literally.

I agree that the Bourne movies are better movies, but the action sequences were far superior in Haywire. I don't know why they keep using it, but that shaky camera effect completely ruins many action sequences.

I hate that. They gave an Academy Award to the guy who invented the steadicam in the 70's it was so revolutionary.

Now we have intentional shaky camera effect. Makes me headachy.
