Is there a connector box or cable that will act as a converter from High definition to VGA? I bought the HD kit for the Xbox because I wanted to hook it up to my computer, then realized my video capture card is only capable of RCA video and S-video. I've heard there are ways to hook up the Xbox high-def kit to a computer monitor, but I can't seem to find any HD to VGA adapters online that have any kind of product descriptions. Any help would be great.

Sell the adapter and buy another on to go to your VGA connection. How much you want to sell that cable for??? :)

What you want is a Component>VGA transcoder.

All I can find are about $300.

Not cheap, but cheaper than an HDTV.

Make sure the item you look at goes the right way. Some are for sending PC signals(VGA) to an HDTV or projector (component). You need the opposite.

What is the protocol for you're HD video output? I would think it would have to be Component or S-Video.

Looks like it would work.

Yeah, that's probably what I'm gonna go with. Either that, or wait for the Xbox 360, which will have an HD-to-VGA adapter you can buy separately.

Wow that looks sweet for $65. It also keeps you from having to buy the HD pack which would be another expense.

Looks like what you were looking for.

Yeah, which kinda sucks because I already bought the HD pack (doh!).

Speaking of which, SweetD, lemme figure a price and I'll PM you tonight if you're interested.

I'm looking to connect it to my computer because, quite frankly, I think any HDTV short of plasma looks like crap, and I'm not willing to shell out $4k-$5k for a television. I don't like how normal programming looks dithered and blocky on most HDTVs. HDTV programming looks great on most of them, but there's not enough in HDTV programming for me to necessitate buying one, even a DLP or LCD. I have a 21" CRT monitor capable of roughly 2000x1400 resolution (though I never take it past 1800 in applications), and I'd much rather use that for gaming until there's more HDTV programming.
