our next head coach will be jim mora jr.

i am not happy about this, but it makes all the sense in the world to me. he's a somewhat unknown, and a hot (though i'm not sure why) commodity. he won't cost a lot. he won't cause a furor. we'll all scratch our heads at the hiring. he's the d-coordinator for a team (the niners) that doesn't have a great defense. in other words, he's the new vince tobin.

get used to the idea boys.

we ain't gettin' the following:

dennis green - wants more power than bidwill willing to give
fassel - he knows the organization - who ever comes BACK here?
coughlin - goin' to NY, everyone knows it
lovie smith - we won't be able to outbid falcons
saban - can't afford him, and, apparently, he's more likely to go to chi-town
crennel - will hold off, even another year, for a better shot w/ a better team - he learned his lesson from belichek's browns debacle

I think it will be Fassel or Smith, I would prefer some others but would not be upset if one of tyhe two gets the nod. With changes in managment ways of doing business IMO we will see a little more money available for the new coach as we have the new stadium in just 3 years.

Jim Fassel will be our next head coach. His family lives here, he left on good terms, and he'll be in charge of determining which of two, can't miss quarterbacks we'll draft this spring.

Jim Fassel, his quarterback, and Anquan, will be the foundation of this franchise for many, many, successful years to come.

My guess is Fassel. He left under good terms and probably not a lot of other teams after him.

I agree with Ouchie though. Whoever comes back to the Cardinals? And he turned them down once before!

When did he turn us down? He left the OC position here to be a HC. I don't remember him ever being offered anything other than OC here.

HUH?
When did Fassel ever "turn down" any HC offer from the Cards?

I think maybe you are confusing him with Norv Turner.

how about charlie weis. he seems like a perfect fit for the cardinal organzation. he does wonders with less. he has done a terrific job with tom brady. when one of their players went down another filled in nicely. since the cardinals have injury after injury every year, then get a coach that can get the most out of his players. weis also makes plays to fit the players strength. weis stresses team over me players. that is why the patriot are so successful. this imo is what the cardinals need.

........and probably comes cheap..........and he's probably a young version of Coach MaC...........and after 2 years Quan will demand a trade........ and the loosing will continue...................

Trust me Cards' fans, without a good NFL head coach at the helm, we will forever continue to have the Gilmore/Kasper type of debates, instead of say, argueing over the fact that the Cards got snubed because not enough of our guys got selected to the Pro Bowl.

this thread was partially meant as a joke, but partially foreshadowing the doom that is approaching.

as the sage Amish say (at least in Kingpin), "run everone a sh*t cloud is coming, a sh#t cloud is coming!"

I'll be shocked if the Cardinals don't take a QB with their 1st pick. That being said, they will hire an offensive-minded coach. Probably Fassell, but Weiss from New England is an option also. This franchise's best years were when we had offensive-minded HC's - Charley Winner, Don Coryell, even Jim Hanifan. Don't underestimate how luring the 1st pick in the draft can be to a prospective HC, especially with a brand new state of the art stadium going up in a couple of years. We'll have quite a bit to offer & can bring an excellent coach in here for the 1st time in a long, long time. Even Pete Carroll could be a possibility.

I've seen nothing from Cardinal manangement in the last, umm say----100 years, that would lead me to believe they will do anything other than find another coach on the cheap which will continue the losing cycle, ad nauseum

I believe the line was "I think I can smell it! Everyone run for your lives - a sh*t cloud's coming!"

I can see us hiring Jim Mora Jr. - 98 percent of the board going berzerk and Tango telling us we are all idiots and that we don't know what we're talking about.

Please let the sh*t-cloud that hangs over the Cardinals finally pass over - it's stunk around here for too long! Bring on the offseason!

I think Jim Fassel will be our next HC. I want a HC with NFL experience, and I don't think any other team will offer him a job this year. Most will wait a year. We can get Fassel. We need to hire him.
If we don't, we may end up with Mora jr, although I'd rater see Childress. Forget about Lovie.

skkorpion,

i come from the offiacal arizona cardinal website linked from nfl.com. whoever this nem is. iam not. this is my same user name from the other board. someone came over and invited everyone to come over and chat over here. since the conversation was getting stale over their, i decided to come here to see what people were talking about. from what little i read so far this seems to be a nice board. everyone stating their opinion without getting thrashed for it. everyone has their opinion who should get drafted and hired as a head coach. one thing everyone seems to agree on is coach mac has to go. good guy but hasn't gotten the job done. i post with the user name of the greatest cardinals qb of all time. that would be jim hart. that for all who can't remeber him.

my reply

Tobin wasn't a bad D.C., not a very good H.C., given. I'm not sure if there are stats, but, how many D.C.'s have become very good if not great H.C.'s? I can't Think of MANY in recent years. Many being the opperative word here. I'm sure the number of O.C.'s becom, ing very good H.C.'s far out weighs D.C.'s. We've gone the D.C. route twice, no three times in a row now?
I think we go offensive minded with our H.C.. What we do in the draft , regardless of our Q.B, will be primarily defense.
