I am beginning an all time historic draft beginning Sunday on another site. We begin by picking 10 players that played for each team and then open the draft up to all historic players in a snake draft. Here is a link if you would like to join us.

But like I said, who do you feel are the best Cards ever in case I miss any from my memory and research. Don't forget to list what position they played. Thx and feel free to join our little game if you like.

You left out a guy who I would actually place in front of Boldin, don't get me wrong because Boldin is a stud, but O.J. Anderson was a great Cardinal who ended up with the Giants in his later years. He was a great back :)

Roy Green couldn't hold Q's jock! ;)

Does this include defensive players in your draft?

...hmmm, Eric Swann, and Roger Wehrli is a white cornerback which seems to always exclude him though he is in the Hall of Fame lol

There is some good names listed above , but one of the top ten has to be Roger Werhli , he is in the HOF , played CB in the 70's

It starts with:

Dick "Night Train" Lane - Hall of Fame, Ring of Honor. NFL Record 14 interceptions in a season. A record that won't be broken in our lifetime despite being running league that played 6 less games.

In 1999, he was ranked number 19 on The Sporting News' list of the 100 Greatest Football Players, making him the highest-ranked defensive back, the Cardinals' highest-ranked player and the Lions' second highest-ranked player after Barry Sanders. He also placed number 2 on NFL Network's "Top 10 Greatest Undrafted Players".

Probably too far back for most of you, but Matson was the best back in the league for several years. The Cardinal decline started when he was traded for 7 players, none of whom was any good. I'd have put Swann on my list and I'm surprised no one mentioned Mel Gray. He was incredibly explosive. Sonny Randle was also worth a look. He had to catch many poorly thrown balls.

It always irritates me that when most people talk about Lane they associate him with the Lions even though he as many games and had better numbers with the Cardinals. But then those Chicago teams were terrible so I guess it makes sense.

OJ Anderson is right there, though it's tough to differentiate all the great players (that guy is # 11, and not top ten??). My take would be to list ALL the POSSIBLE TOP TEN, and then have the fans vote.
