I totally agree that the sound is annoying, but what can I possibly do to help stop it?

Maybe we could protest with signs outside of Fox's headquarters.

Yeah I posted quite a bit about how much this drove me nuts too. I've sent in a couple complaint notes.

If you watch the Short Cut version on DirecTV, it becomes even more annoying, because that noise is occurring constantly.

Maybe it depends on the production team. Last week the Cards had the worst announcers, worst cameras and worst sound effects. The New York-Philadelphia game sounds find (no Sunday Ticket but thank you Fox for giving me your LA channel so I don't have to suffer through Oakland-Baltimore).
