in New Zealand trying to log in to the hotel guest computer to print out some future boarding passes. They have a Mac and the keyboard is a UK keyboard and is really weird. To get the @ sign you have to hit shift 2 and " comes up and then you hit shift " and you get an @ sign. When I got to my password, I have a # sign so shift 3, but instead of the hashtag I get a British pound. The woman at the front desk said do the same thing, find the key with the british pound on it and hit that like you did the " sign and you'll get the # but there is no such key. She eventually admitted she doesn't know.

I started googling and some say alt and some say option 3 will get it but it doesn't work either way. I watched youtube videos about changing the keyboard format but that doesn't help.

I even tried googling the # symbol and just copying it and pasting it in for the password but it won't let me do that in gmail.

Do I really have to change my password to remove the # sign? I have 2 full more days but I've had 3 different people try to help and none of them can figure it out either. Everyone gets the same solution from google, Alt or option and then when that doesn't work they give up

Solved it myself. Not sure why but I had to open another browser and then it let me paste the # sign in for the password and then it took it.

THen I discovered the drum on their printer is almost shot so not even sure if the printouts will work or not. If not I have it on my phone
