Two players on the Messenger/Herald girls basketball team earned a state championship.
Three more took player of the year status in their conference. Eight of 13 girls played on teams that captured a league crown.

Sophomore Elly Evarts was player of the year as Gibsonburg finished first in the Sandusky Bay Conference River Division. She made 95 3-pointers.
Senior Hailey Rees helped Bellevue capture its first state championship.
Junior Kaitlyn Turinsky helped Bellevue take a 15th consecutive league championship.
Senior Raegan Heck was player of the year as Margaretta won the SBC Bay Division and advanced to a regional semifinal.
Sophomore Makenna Moritz helped Genoa earn a share of the Northern Buckeye Conference.
Senior Maci Brown helped Danbury advance to a regional final.
St. Joseph Central Catholic senior Emma Kelbley narrowly missed joining Turinsky in averaging a double-double for points and rebounds.
Senior Lyndi Wolf shared player of the year honor in the Northern Lakes League Cardinal Division for Fremont Ross.
Sophomore Ava Jones helped the Little Giants earn a share of the conference crown.
Senior Aubrey Vitte led Lakota to 12 wins.
Sophomore Brookelyn Tabbert helped Oak Harbor earn a share of the NBC crown.
Senior Olivia Spencer helped Port Clinton win 14 games.
Junior Kayla Hessick averaged 16 points for SJCC.
