Since LA has no good Shooting Forward here it is- Blockbuster Trade of the Century...

Shaquille ONeal- 30 Mil/ Year
Luke Walton- Couple Mil

for

Shawn Marion- 15 Million
Antonio McDyess (Sign and Trade)- 10 Million
Majdfjdfid Lampe- Couple Million
This years 2nd Round
Next Years 1st Round

We have the cap space from Dishing Hardaway and Marbury... And Marion is a quality player that they would be looking for in exchange. I am mad the guy in the paper today suggested Stoudemire, because if we trade Stoudemire for 3 or 4 years of Shaq, we are stupid.

2004 starting line-up

C-Shaq
PF- Amare
SF- Joe Johnson ( he can play any of the guards and sf)
SG- Casey Jacobsen
PG- Jameer Nelson or Ben Gordan

that is a good lineup.. We got the powerful Center which everything goes thorugh, the athletic PF, so right there we get every Rebound, the versitaille Small Forward, the 3-point shooting guard, and then one of the pointguards.

We would literally be unstoppable

Shawn Marion doesn't make 15M$

We don't have a 2nd rounder

Instead of signing McDyess to a ridiculous amount of money the Lakers would rather get nothing (read our capspace) and a trade exception.

well whatever... Yes we could do it and yes they would take McDyess because he is a good powerforward and they are not resigning malone.

Everyone is saying they are going to want Joe Johnson, but they wont because Kareem Rush may have more talent than JJ.

they would run Fisher at point and Rush at SG, with Kobe at SF. That would be a good set of guards. Thats basically what they did this year but with PAyton instead of rush.

SlinSlin- we would never sign K-Mart because he is the same exact player that Amare is, but Amare is younger and better.

Not to mention that the Lakers would be stupid to allow a Shaq/Amare frontcourt paired with Joe Johnson and a #7 pick in their own division even.

You reasoning makes me think that is exactly why the Suns would want Martin.

Although they arent that similar. Amare is a better rebounder & scorer. Martin is a better defender $ shotblocker...

Both are athletic, both would complement each other alot IMO.

Now that Nets were supposed to let Martin walk, it's perfect for the Lakers to trade Shaq to Suns to get Marion and Martin in a three way with Nets.

Suns get Shaq, George, (maybe Walton too) and give up Marion, #7, Lampe, Zarko, Eisley, (maybe Jake too)

Lakers get Martin (s&t), Marion, #7, Eisley, Lampe

Nets get Zarko and future #1 from Laker or something better

That's the best deal for Lakers so far. They'd still have their MLE and about 5 mil trade exception, and 3 mil more if they trade Fisher to Suns along the way.

Say they get Blount, Campbell (trade with Bobcats), Malone

C: Blount/Campbell/Lampe
PF: Martin/Malone
SF: Marion/Walton
SG: Kobe/Rush
PG: Payton/Eisley/#7

Contender right away?

Suns

Shaq/Amare/Jake/George/JJ/CJ/Fisher/Barbosa

Hopefully, they could sign Dice for 1 mil before the trade. Then sign some min FAs to fill out the roster. We'll be contender next year with Amare/Barbosa/JJ improving and Shaq/George/Fisher well motivated, plus the two exceptions next year.

To get Nets to do it, Lakers might need to give up #7, and we might have to sign Dice to say 3 mil for Nets as they supposedly like him there. So, let's modify it to:

Suns get Shaq, Walton, 1 second-rounder, ship Marion, #7, Zarko, Dice (s&t)

Lakers get Martin (s&t), Marion, Zarko

Nets gets #7, Dice

We ahve
Shaq/Amare/Jake/JJ/Walton/CJ/Eisley/Barbosa/2nd-rounder

Nets sign and trade Martin, Suns do it with Dice, what's the problem? It's just a 3-way, right?

Just say no to Shaq

"I have seen the future and his name is Amare" ---Shaq

Why would we want to trade for Shaq when we have the next force in the leaque. I just don't think the Suns are that desperate to win a championship as to rent it for two years. That's exactly what the Lakers tried to do this year by adding Payton and Malone. Look where they are now.

Shaq has at least 4 good years. He demanded an extension in LA because they proved to be a perennial winner. He got to prove it here first. And when 2 years are up, we'd either have the 30 mil cap or Shaq for may 60 mil for 3 years. The situation is not quite the same.
