NY Giants deal with San Diego and take Manning (who will turn into a disappointment.......not a bust, but not in the same class as his brother).

Cleveland deal with Oakland and take Gallery (who will become a Pro Bowl LT in his second year)

Arizona takes Fitzgerald (who will be the ROY and give the Cardinals a 1-2-3 WR punch as good as there is)

San Diego deal with Jacksonville who take Roy Williams

Washington take S. Taylor (who makes them forget about Champ Bailey).

Detroit take Kellen Winslow

Oakland take Ken Udeze

Atlanta take DeAngelo Hall

San Diego take Ben Roesthlisberger

The rest is a crap shoot!

I like this senario and think it is pretty close to what I expect to happen. Lots of movement in the top 10 and I do expect us to get Fitz!

If this comes to pass (pun intended) we should be tough to defend. Don't forget Freddy Jones becomes a fourth premium target. With three elite receivers Jones will be harder to cover. And say what you will about Emmit, but he has always been a solid receiving threat out of the backfield as well.

Lets not forget that Shipp has some good hands as well! This could become a very very good offense real fast!

Just think, we opened last year with a set of receivers that absolutely no-one feared. What a difference a year makes!

Why would Cleveland deal with Oakland and pay #2 money when they could Deal with AZ and pay #3? They just need to be ahead of the #4 spot.

Hopefully

Giants take Eli
Oak tase Fitz
AZ deals with Cle who takes Gallery
SD deals with Jac who takes Roy
and so on

AZ takes Wilfork

ESPN Insider is reporting that the Giants and Chargers have reached an agreement on trade parameters. The Giants naturally would want to sign Manning before Saturday noon to complete the transaction. Apparently, the Giants will ship Ike Hilliard WR or 2005 #2, 2004 #1 (4), and 2004 #2 (34) to move up three spaces. The Giants would take Manning.

At #2 the Raiders will take phone calls about moving down. ESPN reports that the Raiders top two choices are Robert Gallery and Roy Williams. Although, knowing Al Davis that might be a ruse and he is hiding his fondness for Fitz. Oakland will head south if they get a good package. The team most likely to move up to #2 would be the Browns. They would have to surrender a player (i.e.-Northcutt), #1 (7), and either #2 (38) or 2005 #1. If they stay here the choice leans towards Roy Williams Texas.

The Cardinals will take Fitz if he is there. If he goes #2 the Cardinals will choose between Taylor and Winslow. DG has stated he will take the BPA regardless of position. Since Taylor is the highest rated defensive player in the draft I would give a slight edge to him over Winslow, but Green prefers offense so Winslow might be the call. I say it's 100% Fitz (if there) and Taylor (50.6%) and Winslow (50.4%) if he is not.

The fourth spot will be Gallery to San Diego if Oakland takes Williams at #2. If he is gone the Chargers will retreat once again possibly with the Jags at #9. In this deal the Bolts would get the Jags #1 (9), #2 (39), and their lowest #3 (72). San Diego might trade back a mid-round pick to Jacksonville to suffice all trade value problems. If they stay here (unable to find a dance partner) they will make a mild reach and go for Rivers whom they like the most.

At five the Skins will pick Winslow.

Detroit wants a back very bad but not at six. The Steelers or Bills may call about moving to this spot for a QB. If the Lions stand here it's probably Taylor.

Cleveland wants to in the worst of ways make it to #2 for Gallery. Failing that they will settle for DeAngelo Hall CB.

Atlanta wants Hall but might miss out on him it's rather unclear who they are targeting. Safe money says the pick will be defense (unless Williams falls this very unlikely).

The 9th pick could be Rivers if the Chargers trade down with Jacksonville. If Jax stays at #9 they will get "hosed" because the elite players (Roethlisberger would be one but the Jags don't need a QB) are all gone. I think the Mike Williams decision hurts Jacksonville the most.

I've been listening to a lot of the national radio guys and the consensus is that San Diego will trade out of the first pick with the Giants and then will very likely trade down further with the Browns.

Basically it shaped up like this....

1...Giants Manning
2...Raiders Roy Williams
3...Cardinals Fitzgerald
4...Browns Gallery
5...Redskins Taylor or Winslow
6...Lions Jackson or Winslow or Taylor
7...Chargers Rivers

They said the Raiders will explore trading down with the Browns or Jaguars...although the Jags have very little to offer(pick-wise) and would have to cut a player or 2 to afford Darius who is considered part of the offer.

A draft day like that would have to be considered good for the Chargers depending on who they get or what additional picks they get in trade.

It will be a very interesting draft and very likely a long first round.

Big Ben could go before Rivers but from everything I've read and heard the Chargers prefer Rivers before him and feel they can trade down and still get him, so if they trade down to what they feel is as far as they should go and both are on the board they will select Rivers.

The big question is still out there. Will McCown be able to get the ball to our very good receivers?

With better schemes and better coaching in our O-Line I don't see why McCown can't deliver.

I'm thinking everyone is wrong about the Giants. They want Gallery, not Manning. Collins has been in the playoffs several times and was one missed FG from taking the Giants to the Superbowl. He sucked last year because their OL sucked. Fix the OL and the Giants improve a ton. Get a rookie QB and basicly give up this year and rebuild. That makes no sense.
