ESPN Insider is reporting that the Giants and Chargers have reached an agreement on trade parameters. The Giants naturally would want to sign Manning before Saturday noon to complete the transaction. Apparently, the Giants will ship Ike Hilliard WR or 2005 #2, 2004 #1 (4), and 2004 #2 (34) to move up three spaces. The Giants would take Manning.
At #2 the Raiders will take phone calls about moving down. ESPN reports that the Raiders top two choices are Robert Gallery and Roy Williams. Although, knowing Al Davis that might be a ruse and he is hiding his fondness for Fitz. Oakland will head south if they get a good package. The team most likely to move up to #2 would be the Browns. They would have to surrender a player (i.e.-Northcutt), #1 (7), and either #2 (38) or 2005 #1. If they stay here the choice leans towards Roy Williams Texas.
The Cardinals will take Fitz if he is there. If he goes #2 the Cardinals will choose between Taylor and Winslow. DG has stated he will take the BPA regardless of position. Since Taylor is the highest rated defensive player in the draft I would give a slight edge to him over Winslow, but Green prefers offense so Winslow might be the call. I say it's 100% Fitz (if there) and Taylor (50.6%) and Winslow (50.4%) if he is not.
The fourth spot will be Gallery to San Diego if Oakland takes Williams at #2. If he is gone the Chargers will retreat once again possibly with the Jags at #9. In this deal the Bolts would get the Jags #1 (9), #2 (39), and their lowest #3 (72). San Diego might trade back a mid-round pick to Jacksonville to suffice all trade value problems. If they stay here (unable to find a dance partner) they will make a mild reach and go for Rivers whom they like the most.
At five the Skins will pick Winslow.
Detroit wants a back very bad but not at six. The Steelers or Bills may call about moving to this spot for a QB. If the Lions stand here it's probably Taylor.
Cleveland wants to in the worst of ways make it to #2 for Gallery. Failing that they will settle for DeAngelo Hall CB.
Atlanta wants Hall but might miss out on him it's rather unclear who they are targeting. Safe money says the pick will be defense (unless Williams falls this very unlikely).
The 9th pick could be Rivers if the Chargers trade down with Jacksonville. If Jax stays at #9 they will get "hosed" because the elite players (Roethlisberger would be one but the Jags don't need a QB) are all gone. I think the Mike Williams decision hurts Jacksonville the most.
