Just curious, but why does Hernandez stand up before every snap and tap the center right before the snap? I’m not sure I’ve seen another team do that - and it seems to signal to the defense when the ball will be snapped.

But why? Is the Guard making the line calls?
I usally see them look around and behind at the QB then the tap. I always just assumed it’s generally on the road when it’s loud and lets the center know the QB is ready? Sadly we have to do it at home too??

The home team doing it is probably what you haven't seen.

I noticed they faked it a few times.

If a lineman has gotten into a 3pt stance he’s allowed to stand but not make a forward motion. There are a variety of possibilities as to why the move. It could be a line call. Id-ing a potential stunt or blitz. Pointing out a shift that alters assignments. On rare occasion they may have not been able to understand an audible.
