You're 1000% correct we stopped D Henry and CLE run game too. But my theory is that the Cardinals are especially susceptible to cut back runners like Cook and McCaffery. They have less trouble with bigger backs like D Henry.

MIN, GB and now CAR all lit us up with the run game. Weirdly, I don't think SF really tried to run against us.

If I'm a DC, I'm staying away from Murphy/Thompson/Baker and Alford, and instead going after Hicks and Co. Maybe go at Marco Wilson a little. Aren't you?

BTW, @THESMEL, if you want to watch a game that I think you would really like, check out the replay of yesterday's Oklahoma vs. Baylor game.

BU ran the ball 41 times for 300 yards or something. Just pounded away at a game OU defense until the point where midway through the 4th Q, the OU defense was gassed and hobbling, and could offer little resistance. It was quite a spectacle.
Ok thanks, I got back from Dominican Republic at midnight last night, to an ASU comeback! I may want to revisit the 72 dolphins perfect season, but still have my 8 year olds resentment cause they took out my browns and Leroy Kelly in the afc championship that year. I just grew up into that strategy, and still feel it’s true, even Bradshaw and Steelers.

KKs game plan and playcalling sucked and VJ defense hasn’t stopped the run since he’s been here…bye hope someone is dumb enough to give him a HC job since KK seems to think he’s a good DC.

One thing I noticed pretty early is AJ Green wasn't 100%. During the week I picked him up in fantasy and they had him listed with "illness" on Thur and Friday even after he was cleared for Covid. It didn't describe the illness but he just looked really lethargic during the game. I was thinking the illness thing and limited practice was precautionary after Covid but I suspect AJ wasn't anywhere near 100%.

The closest he came to an impact play was that diving catch attempt that got poked out at the last second by their CB's dive. I was watching him during the game and with D Hop out it was surprising how often AJ wasn't in the game, at least I didn't see him. Snap count will be interesting it seemed like he played far less than I expected.

Hero is obviously #34, Jalen Thompson.

Honorable mention will be Christian Kirk, who had seven for 58 today. No drops, made some tough catches.

Goat will be Hicks for me. We gave up 160+ on the ground, and he's the leader of our front seven. Buck stops with him.

Honorable mention will be Chandler Jo.. no wait... Colt McCoy. The first TO was tough, but he held on to the ball too long probably. 2nd TO was ass, and exactly what back up QBs are paid not to do. Still glad we have him on the team though. He tried his best I'm sure.
Kirk was about the only bright spot on offenses yesterday despite McCoy and Streveler repeatedly leading into brutal hits from the Panthers.

Our points against 'SAYS' that VJ is a good DC.

Having zero offense against CAR did not help VJ's cause this past week QuebecCard. But there's no doubt that VJ's run defense got it's @ss kicked (pardon my french) yesterday.

Overall, I like the job VJ has done this year. Our secondary is playing great, and we've done a great job of forcing turnovers. But GB and CAR beat us with the run, and MIN should have beat us behind their strong running performance too. If I'm off-base here, please tell me.

I would feel a whole lot better about a deep run in the playoffs if JJ came back, because without him, I think teams can exploit our front seven. Hope I'm wrong.
