The first practice did not go off without a hitch. Cornerback Tom Knight, who missed all of the 2002 season with a hamstring injury, came up limping during a coverage drill.
Knight strained his groin muscle, according to team trainer Bill Tessendorf, and if the practice field is sloppy Saturday, he may sit out the practice. However, the injury did not appear to be serious, Tessendorf added.
