In the last 3 consecutive games, the D-Backs have blown 5 Save opportunities! I don't believe that has ever happened before... incredible... :bang::bang:

AJ, despite his lack of managing or coaching experience before taking the job, has shown much more knowledge of sound baseball than Bob Melvin.

But, damnit, he shows the same "Aw shucks" personality to the Press that Melvin had.

"Little problem", "Pretty good". If everything else worked, you could perhaps overlook it. But as soon as a weakness develops (horrible relief pitching, inconsistent hitting , etc.), it spotlights a passive personality. One that could doom a Manager to a career of Bench Coach or Special Assistant to the GM.

How about telling the bullpen

The next one to blow a save is going to Reno to find themselves.

It is too early to lose all hope for this team. We have some arms in our pen that are good, the problem is we have had to use all of them way to much. Qualls and Gutierrez need a day or two off. Howry probably should be gone, and Heilman is in the same boat as Qualls. Here is the big problem, who do you bring up? Zavada has a lovely 81 ERA in the minors right now (granted he has only thrown 1/3 of an inning). Kronke hasn't thrown well. Daniel Strange and T.J. Beam have done well but are they really ready for the majors? Once these guys can get some rest I would expect it to be better, but I do think we have to make a move or two to get some new arms out there.

Well Gutierrez has pitched 3 straight days. I don't care when the season started, you pitch that many days in a row your arm will be tired and not have the same sort of stuff. Qualls pitched 2 straight days but threw 50 pitches. Same thing, you can't go every single day.

Its hardly too early. The team is doing the same crap that cost us the season last year. Nothing has changed.

Actually, last season they couldn't score a run if it was gifted to them. Their pitching was far above average for most of the season.
This year, they have no issues thus far on offense... but their pen is a disaster...
