BASEBALL​


Nonleague

Westerly 5, Waterford 0​


Westerly pitchers Chase Collins and Zach Miner combined to pitch a 4-hit shutout, striking out 8 batters between them, and the Bulldogs came away with the win. Contributing to the victory were Kevin Saglio with a double and 2 RBI, Miner and Jack Zerbarini, with a double and an RBI each, and Thomas Fiore who had 2 hits and scored a run.

SOFTBALL​


Division I

Pilgrim 7, Toll Gate 6​


The D-I Patriots built a 7-run lead by the fourth inning and then held off the Titans in the crossover game. Genna D'Amato and Madison Tuirok each had two hits — one of Tuirok's was a triple — and each drove in a run, and Marin Prest hit a solo home run, powering Pilgrim, which took advantage of 7 walks and 6 stolen bases.

Barrington 18, Mt. Hope 1​


The Eagles exploded for 12 runs in the first inning and cruised past the Huskies in this shortened D-I contest. Alyssa Conaty was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored, Kendall Fisher was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI and Aislinn McCoy had a hit with 2 RBI.

Westerly 7, West Warwick 2​


Isabella Mazzarese drove in 3 runs on 2 hits, Tori Gabriele also had 2 hits and drove in 2, and Ella Keegan and Sara Arnold each had 2 hits and an RBI as the D-I Bulldogs took care of business by beating the D-II Wizards. In all, Westerly out-hit West Warwick, 10-3. Madison Walsh had 2 hits and an RBI for the Wizards.

Division II

Johnston 9, Burrillville 3​


The Panthers plated a run in the first inning and did it at least once in nearly every other frame to top the Broncos. Kalyn Foster led the attack, going 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Alanna Colon was 1-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI and Bella Rondeau was 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Madison Campano collected a pair of hits and drove in one, as well. In the circle, Haley Boudreau struck out 15 batters and allowed a single earned run in a complete-game victory. For the Broncos, Adrianna Carter, Macey Polacek and Grace Trowbridge each had a hit and drove in a run in the loss.

BOYS LACROSSE​


Division I

Cumberland 15, Prout 11​


Sean Taylor fired in 8 goals and also had an assist, Blake Huard added 2 goals and 5 assists, and Mason Titus had 3 goals, propelling the D-I Clippers to the victory. For the D-II Crusaders, Liam McIntosh had 6 goals and 2 assists, Desmond Scoones had 2 goals and 2 assists and John Gaffney had 2 goals and an assist.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL​


Division II/III

Portsmouth 3, Toll Gate 0​


For the D-III Patriots, Fabio Muscianisi had 2 kills and 9 digs, and Jack Loper had a kill, 1 dig and 3 assists in the 25-17, 25-23, 25-16 win. D-II Toll Gate's Rowan Peireira recorded 5 kills, 1 ace and 2 digs in the loss.

Chariho 3, Westerly 2​


In a highly competitive match, the Chargers managed to slip past the the Bulldogs. Leading the way to victory were Kody Poplawski (26 kills, 2 aces, 2 digs), Ricky Comolli (51 assists) and Landon Marland (23 kills and 3 aces). Playing well for the Bulldogs were Tyler Brayman (7 digs, 28 assists, 6 kills and 2 blocks),James Manfredi (9 digs, 20 assists, 4 kills, 1 block and 1 ace) and Henry Kenyon (9 digs, 24 kills, 5 blocks and 1 ace).

Pawtucket 3, Woonsocket 0​


The play of Hayson Ortiz (9 kills, 3 digs, 2 blocks), Jean-Lucas Barroso (17 assists 4 aces, 2 blocks, 2 kills) and Bryan Leon (5 kills, 2 aces) helped pave the way for Pawtucket's 25-7, 25-15, 25-12 win over the Villa Novans. Jaydel Dejesus had 4 blocks and 1 ace for Woonsocket in the loss.
