Atlanta Hawks center Jason Collier died early Saturday morning of an apparent heart attack. He was 28.
Collier experienced chest pains and his wife performed CPR and called 911.
Hawks players were notified of Collier’s death at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning before a scheduled workout was cancelled.
Collier, who played at Georgia Tech, was the longest tenured Hawk player, joining the team for the 2003-04 season after spending three seasons in Houston.

Scotsman13, what do you do for a living? Do you think that it is right for your employer to ask for a DNA test if you were applying for a new job? What if taking that DNA test, they found out that you have a 2% chance of having a heart attack? What if they somehow found a "speeding" gene that said that you are more likely to speed when driving down the road, raising the possibility of you getting into an accident? (I know there is no speeding gene, but I hope you get my point.)
I just dont see how this someone prove that Paxson was "right" in forcing Curry to take the test. The DNA test that he was going to take is not conclusive anyway.
scotsman13 said:for me i work for intel telling people how to build computers. the reason that this backs up paxsons statement about getting curry to take a dna test is because if they knew that there was a problem they can take steps in moniter and insure if there is a problem they are prepared to handle it. it has nothing to do with what a player so make or if they can do the job but it is all about being prepared if a problem comes up in an envoriment that would possibly lead to a greater chance of problems.
today they have defibulors for your home, would it have made a differance with collier? maybe. if he had asperin there would it have help? well yea we know that your chances of staying alive after a heart attack happens is greatly increased if you have this things handy.
