Bought a Blendtec about a year ago and now I make my ice cream in that. I have a mean spinach ice cream recipe.

btw, a tsp or two of vodka (or appropriate liqueur) per quart helps keep it from getting rock-hard in the freezer. I made coconut dark chocolate last night. Lemon-vanilla custard last week. Maybe Strawberry up next, I think.

I keep meaning to post in here...DCR bought me the ice cream maker attachment for my Kitchenaid mixer for my birthday. (I don't think I even knew they had one). Made a batch of Caramel Pecan. I think it turned out really good. Like schutd said, it definitely needs to go in the freezer to firm up after making it, though.

Hard to keep making ice cream on a diet, but I'll give it another go here soon! :)

How does that work? Pretty good? Any drawbacks?

Make with the recipe sharing, Bada!

It's green, but it's so sooo good!

6oz almond milk
2oz agave
1 scoop protein powder (I use the vanilla stuff from costco)
2 cups spinach
2.5 cups ice

I actually keep a big bag of spinach leaves in the freezer for my protein shakes. Since I use frozen spinach I use a little less ice. Just keep adjusting until you get the consistency you like. It'll take some practice.

Warning - it doesn't really keep. I've tried to save it in the freezer, but it gets too icy.

I love it. The only drawback I have is that you have to keep the bowl in the freezer, and that just takes up space. If you know you're going to be making ice cream, then you can throw it in a couple of days ahead, but if you want to be able to make it when you feel like it, then you have to store it in there.

Awesome, thanks Linda!
