Yes! This make sense. The idea of working contracts over teleconference and agreeing to conditional terms (pending physical) is silly.

I’d imagine if this is the direction everyone in the league decides to go, we will see free agency signings strung out over several weeks.

If I was a player...I would want my money now.

Who knows what life/contracts/sports will look like in 1, 3, 6, 12 months.

If nearly 50% of the players feel like they gave in on the new CBA...they are certainly not going to give in on getting millions of dollars delayed or reduced in the future.

how does this make sense? You're putting doctors and examiners and all the people involved in flying those planes around the country at risk. Believe me, I want ANYTHING to talk about besides the virus.

this should just be shut down until the country gets a grasp on what's going on. advocating for anything else is pure selfishness at this point.

hope you rethink your opinion based on no-one having to travel.

NFL says NFLPA would not provide consent to move league year, per source. NFLPA says: No one is traveling anyway. It’s not football activity, it’s deals. Everyone is working remotely. Let’s do our business remotely. And this could get worse before it gets better. So do it now.

So NFLPA wants players to get deals without team doctors examining them. Makes sense for NFLPA.

Existing medical reports could be forwarded and the agreement would be subject to a clause requiring a final exam by the new team's physician.

No biggie!

Deals would include a "subject to medical

I agree but my concern would be that a team has a plan on who to pursue based on needs and the upcoming draft. The Cards for example should target an ILBer in FA because of need and lack of talent available in the draft. We sign player x without a physical and later find out he can't play this year (or ever again) so now our draft plan is screwed and or we suck again at ILBer.

Well it appears we have football to entertain us. Legal tampering....which is stupid starts. I expect us to sign NOBODY on day one. I think maybe by Friday.

it appears Derek Wolfe might be the first guy. We should know pretty quickly on Drake. Every day he doesn’t sign is one day closer to signing with us.

A glimpse of our world: With free agency on track for this week, some teams are planning to use private planes to fly in premier free agents. Still, those flights require pilots to leave home and work, and teams are not pleased about this. Teams NOT happy free agency this week.

DeMaurice Smith says on ESPN that the NFL did NOT ask the NFLPA to move back the start of the league year. Disputes report that it was the NFLPA that didn’t want to push it back.

2 hours to go.
Free agency can still be delayed.
A lot of finger-pointing going on between NFLPA and NFL.

We'll see what happens.

Edit: I keep getting my time mixed up with Arizona's time. I hate being in a different time zone.:(
