Hopkins thrives in the slot (or was he forced there by BOB?). So who emerges on the outside?

Hopkins is still really good on the outside, but he kills teams over the middle. Can Kirk play outside? Isabella ready to take the next step? Hakeem Butler ready?

Viewing the Texans message boards they werent a fan of him of being stuck in the slot. So maybe he'll play outside here.

However, based on the last couple of years...Hop/Fitz/Kirk are mostly slot guys.

For a team that had a bunch of 10 YPC guys..

Hopkins is an 11 YPC guy last year. And thats not an issue.. Maybe that was a fluke year. However, if he was getting that with a bunch of fast guys around him (better QB). I just worry about slower guys around him making it tough for him to be that dominant chain mover.

Its just something that needs to be noted.

Fitz plays outside. Hopkins only played in the slot 23.7% of the time last year.

I think I'll let Kingsbury worry about this "problem".

Question I am wondering, has Kingsbury ever had a receiver as good as Hopkins to work with?

I think Hopkins plays outside with Fitz in this slot. Also look for them to stack 3 guys on one side and isolate Hopkins on the other. Hopkins biggest strength is making 50-50 balls 70-30s. He has the best body control of any top NFL receiver. He’ll be devastating against the sideline as well. I wanted Lamb, but getting this guy was not on my radar. Between Fitz and Hopkins, somebody’s Going to get single coverage. The Cards could well become the best 3rd down team in the league.

Hopkins is the definition of an outside receiver

Could you imagine Hopkins, Arnold and Butler in a bunch formation? Red zone nightmare.
Why is it I imagine Butler dropping the ball. Seriously if there is a preseason and unless he has a good one his roster spot is in jeopardy.

I will throw this one out there, Butler will be as good a DK Metcalf... drops and all lol
Metcalf drops at least one pass every game. Dropped several against us in Seattle, had a horrible game. Maybe Butler can learn from Hopkins & Fitz on how to concentrate & not drop passes?
