Here's the thing. House played ok today. He finally made a couple of plays, which was great to see. However, he also blew several blocks that either got Palmer hit or got a run blew up. I'm talking complete whiffage, LD style.

I'll re watch the game and site a couple specifics but it was definitely a mixed bag for Houseler today, the "bad" just goes unnoticed to most.

He has potential and if he can be a consistent weapon on offense, we can take the good with the bad, as long as he keeps the good coming.

Housler wasn't really drafted to be a blocker in fairness to him. There are some really good pass catching TEs in this league that aren't very good blockers.

In the area his skill Set was meant for he was stellar today and it was nice to see finally.

I'd say they just need to run away from him, or not have him in to block at all. But, that would make our plays too easy to read.

I will say his success was due, in large part, to coaching over the bye.

Those little screens and flat passes they threw to either Housler, or RBs, Dray got one too, coming off blocks were brilliant. And, we did not do any of those in the first 8 games. Houston just couldn't get them covered.

Obviously, having Palmer take a lot of 5 and 7 step drops was not working, and the TEs were no threat to anyone. Now, teams game planning for us will have to look for those plays which should slow down the rush and give more time for the deep throws Arians really wants to do.

He had his best game as a pro by far. If he can keep up that kind of production, it will be a godsend to this offense.

Hopefully this is not a one off, and Robbie can keep making the critical catches like that outstanding one-handed grab at the five-yard line. Best performance by a Cardinal tight end in recent memory.

I would love to see Housler make plays like this consistently. But he will need to do it in more than one game before I get excited.

He played a great game. I cant believe he went down and grabed that tough seam pass when I can't even count how many he has dropped in stride on his way to a sure TD. I am happy for him but he should have 8+ TDs at this stage of his career. Lets hope this was the first day of him playing the position competently.

+1

I was sure he dropped it. When he came up with it, he would have been in his rights (if it was possible) to shove that football right in my face. Heck of a catch.
