Lot D? Is that the grass lot near the soccer fields or the lot behind the baseball field? I'm confused!

Once you all got a plan, let me know where to meet. My wife and I got our hotel this weekend. Everything around ASU is sold out, so we are at the Sleep Inn by the Airport. Some unlucky cabby will have to drive us back...

Is there a decent sports bar in the vicinity of HWY 51/Squaw Peak and Cactus? We want to catch some college football games before going out to Carefree Saturday the 18th.

...tailgate party or church? ...tailgate party or church??? Your making it tough on me!

Seriously though, why don't people do post game tailgates?

And as far as halftime goes; I am all for honoring Tillman, but does anybody really think that they are going to do something exciting or unique?

its a good thing my church has a 7:30 AM mass. Concerning the Tillman tribute, they are also honoring all the american soldiers that was lost in the war and least that I can do is give my 15 minutes to honor them. But thats just me though.

I believe so.

Actually the northeast corner might work better. Somewhere where everyone can park together. Say, take the opposite corner from the entrance. I'm not sure how they run it there.

This is where we tailgate every week! So does the Avengers, Red Heat and the Bird Cage Brigade. Also Valle Luna is bringing like 200 people in buses to this tailgate! Good to see you all want to put this together it is going to be huge! Our crew is going to do it up with style!

Duckjake-

Take Cactus east to Scottsdale road. Go north on Scottsdale, a little less than one mile to the SW corner of Scottsdale and Thunderbird for Brennans Cantina. It's a neighborhood place, reasonable, Mexican food, off track betting, and all the games.

Or, keep going north on Scottsdale Rd another half mile to the NE corner of Paradise LN/Scottsdale for Fox Sports Grill. Upscale, hotties, plasma's. They have a putting green outside, and billiards inside, great food.

Both are on your way to the Boulders. The last time I played it, I shot 77, but that was 10 years, and 40 lbs ago. Enjoy.

I'll be listening to the game on my way home from Lake Powell. Hopefully I've learned how to program my VCR so I can watch it in the evening.

My wife and I agreed months ago to go boating this weekend, and I didn't even think about football when I said we would go. STUPID! :stupid:

I'm going to the regular meeting spot at the half, regardless of what everyone else is doing.

To me, Tillman's sacrifice means more than all the ceremonies remembering/honoring him. I followed Tillman's entire college/pro career, and was lucky enough to meet him a couple of times...personally, I think Pat would want people to connect with one another, put names to faces, etc...not sit and watch something done in his name.

Also - You can likely watch some of the tribute on the tv at the meeting place, or see it later when highlights are replayed on tv.

Tailgate idea sounds great if you're an out-of-towner, I suppose, but not everyone is free before the game.

My wife and I have church/teach Sunday School and usually are free in just enough time to be make it to SDS and be seated before the players are announced...sometimes right at kickoff.

Hopefully, I'll still meet up with some new people...if not, I'm sure some of the regulars will be there for at least part of the halftime.

Well, that is all fine and dandy, now where are we gonna meet? I am staying in Scottsdale because all the normal hotels I stay in are sold out. So first of all, how long a drive is it from downtown Scottsdale to SDS? Second of all, since this will be my first time driving to the game, which exit do I take to make it to the tailgate party? Lastly, how much does it cost to pay for parking? Thanks in advanced and I look forward to meeting everyone!!

This is the kinda stuff we need to increase our fan base.

Easy for me to say as an "out-of-towner" but I think the more of these events that we see the less we'll see of opposing fans dominating our house.

That just shouldn't happen.

Hate to throw a cold towel on everything but the long range forecast is for 105+ degrees that day.

No tail gating for me. Too hot. We'll do it later in the year. But I will go to the halftime meet.

If you can't come to the tailgate, at least send the cold towel!

Bandfields, 9am, northwest corner. Whoever gets there first needs to make a big ASFN flag out of a white bed sheet and red spray paint to let people know where to go.
