I want LenDale White if we use the 1st round pick on a RB.......but I'm hoping cooler heads prevail and we take Haloti Ngata who is a Shaun Rogers clone.

Considering where we will be drafting, I am on the Ngata bandwagon as well.

John you amaze me, how many times does it have to be pointed out to you that Cadillac was drafted BEFORE the Cards first pick this year? You keep bringing him up as if we passed on him to take JJ, he was the 5th pick, JJ was the 44th pick. We never had a shot at Cadillac, if we had, I gotta believe we'd have picked him, Green was quite vocal that he loved the kid.

He's a great player, nearly 1100 yards 4.1 YPC, 6 TD, but even Cadillac can't run by himself, as he proved in 5 games this year where he got 30 yards rushing or less, and averaged about 2 YPC in those 5 games. Let's not forget that his backup, ex Card Michael Pittman, averaged 5.4 YPC so far this year, or 1.3 MORE than Cadillac does behind the same OL. Great rookie RB, helped turn that team around, but the real key to their run game this year is their OL jelled, and they had remarkable luck, are you aware that they had the same 5 guys start ALL FIFTEEN games this year on their OL? I believe they were the only team in the NFL to do that. I think we have one guy on our entire OL that started 15 games, Big, they have 5.

If you saw the Patriot game 2 weeks ago we all saw with our own eyes that when there is no blocking, Cadillac can't run, 13 carries, 20 yards, longest run was 3 yards, repeatedly diving down to avoid hits in the backfield because the Pats loaded up the box and he had nowhere to run. Teams don't have to load the box on us, they beat our OL with 7 guys, sometimes with 6, and they run blitz and get unblocked guys taking free shots at our RB's. We have a staggering number of runs for losses this year, some of that is the RB's, a lot of it is the OL stunk.

I just don't see the point of constantly bringing up a rookie who we never had a shot at drafting as an example of how "good teams find RB's" and we don't. Trash the Bears they passed on Cadillac, but don't trash us the guy was off the board and there was no way Tampa was going to trade down because Gruden loved the kid.

I brought up Cadillacs name only because his name is Williams as in Ricky which was the topic of the subject and he is a power runner type which I think we need. I respectfully disagree that Tampa can run only because their OL jelled. A good running game requires both good runners and a good OL. They happen to have two very good runners to go with that line. They can make yardage with people hanging on their backs and long after they have passed the line of scrimmage. We are the worst team in the league in red zone scoring and running TD's. Even with a lame OL a strong runner can get you a yard or two and it does not have to be Cadillac Williams. It can be Ricky Williams or two dozen other runners in this league. JJ was horrible this year anyway you look at it, paint it, or disguise it. The numbers speak for themselves. I know very well we did not have a shot at Cadillac Williams and I do not know why you presume you think I thought we did. I often post we need a power runner like a Bus or Cadillac Williams. I still think that. As for Michael Pittman I never wanted to lose him. He is better than either of our current RB's. I am not even sure Cadillac Williams is the best RB to come out last year but he is a power runner type which I covet. You must think I have some sort of love affair with Cadillac Williams. I do not. I wanted a QB last year and want one this year depending on who is avialable. I would take Leinhart over Bush at this point but we sure need to address our RB problem. It want go away with a new OL.

I would sure give LenDale White a strong look. He is a powerful guy with speed. DeAngleo is from the Little Rock area and I was always a homer about him even in high school. He is about the size of JJ and has not played against top competition day in and day out. I do think he has more power and drive than JJ. It will be interesting to see how the pros look at him and where he will be drafted. Ron Dayne had world class numbers and played in a major college conference but has struggled in the NFL so you can never be sure.

it won't go away but it will seem a lot less critical if we had an NFL OL run blocking.

Pittman averaged 5.4 YPC this year, 1.5 above his career average, 1.2 above last years average, and .9 above his career high(which was in a similar number of carries to this year). It's pretty hard to say the OL this year in Tampa isn't better than in past years given that you can easily show Pittman's performance went up so dramatically. Admittedly less carries than normal but again even in years with similar carries, never came close to 5.4 YPC.

Cadillac had a LOT to do with Tampa's season, I love the kid, he's a great player, but it's pretty apparent that OL is also quite a bit better this year.

I love White too and have said for weeks I think he'd be a nice fit. THe one problem is the rumor is he's not coming out. I'll believe it when I see it, he was barely eligible this year, but all the USC boards say he's already told Pete Carroll he wants to come back and be the feature RB next year. I would say huge mistake, this year he's the 2nd or 3rd RB on the board and could go quite high, next year I don't see him going ahead of Adrian Peterson or Marshawn Lynch, he is probably going to go no higher next year than this year so unless he's just determined to get his degree, I'd advise him to come out.

For a 4th I'd consider it, but no way for a 3rd.

The only reason he's playing is because he doesn't want to give back his signing bonus. He's got no team spirt or desire to play. He could easily quit again.

26 carries for 172 yards. Doesn't sound like a guy who has no desire to play.

What you would have to assess is Williams Bi-Polar disorder and how it could affect his performance in the future.

Having a psych evaluation would probably be a good idea before signing a lot of football players.:D

Nope...not kidding at all. I love Boldin; great heart, passion, and loyalty. Ricky is, like I said, an enigma. He has tremendous talent. Considering the way the NFL has treated him, I wish he would have stayed away. You know, I prefer the tough scotch drinking wife beaters(who have faced less repercussions) to a socially burdened, seemingly, nice guy who smokes some weed.

Little, did I read that wrong? Did you say you prefered wife beaters to a quiet guy who somkes some pot?

If we traded for Williams, I would be thrilled. In terms of bringing in a enigma of player, he would be one enigma I could handle having.
