Rod Coleman is a good player and would probably help but I don't think he is in the mold of the type of DT we should be looking for. Coleman is a one-gap DT who is more fit to coming off the bench and rushing the passer because he can't play every down at DT. We already have a similar player in Kenny King who's younger and cheaper and has a comparable upside. I doubt Rod goes in this direction.

He is what Wendell Bryant should have been. A passrushing DT.
Bryant has had 2 years I kind of doubt he will suddenly become good.

At this point with all the talented FAs disappearing - take him - take anyone with talent.

Get your gap stuffing DT in the 2nd round with pick #33.

And at least the O-Line will generate some pressure.

Classic stat: Suggs had more sacks then the whole Cards team in college playing less games.

The Cards need to pressure the QB.
This team is going to get blown out on a regular basis again. The key to winning in the NFL is the ability to pressure the QB. If he has time you are in trouble.

Some more classic stats, as a college soph Marcel Shipp rushed for 2542 yards and 18 TD's, as a junior 1846 and 24 TD's. Both years topped the whole Cardinal team in rushing yards and TD's.

Well I have to state the obvious on this board because a lot of people here are saying don't get Coleman or Kearse or Berry who can pressure the QB. And they want guys like Hill and Wistrom who cannot pressure the QB.

It's obvious to you and me but not them. They are happy adding a 5 sack man.
