Before we got tickets to the game, I had everyone on shun. I did NOT want to watch the game with anyone but my wife and abomb and his wife. I did not want to have people watching me pace the floor, be a complete ass, rewind plays, fast forward through monkeys dancing with unicorn commercials and all that jazz....

We got SO many invites to parties and I didn't want to go to any of them. I wanted to watch in near solitude, only with people who UNDERSTAND the importance of this game.

I got people who are inviting me over to their places for parties, etc......they all know how big this is for me. But I have turned them all down because I want to watch the game alone in my basement where I can scream, curse, cry, yell with no distractions. My wife and kids are even getting out of the house for this - going to Grandmas in NJ.

I feel the same way everyone posted on this thread. I have been invited to a bunch of SB parties. We said we would go to our neighbor's party. They are die hard Cardinals fans, too.

But I am worried who else is going to show up. I really don't want to be around people that are not going to focus on the game.

I wanted to just watch this at home for the reasons listed in this thread. Maybe I will leave at half time if it is too "social"

Nothing is more annoying that someone commenting on the Cardinals that does not follow the team.

For the first time in any of our lives, the Super Bowl will NOT be an excuse to over-eat, get hammered, and critique the commercials. THIS IS A GAME!!! I have no idea how I will behave! Especially with my emotions on display for casual football fans to see ("Why are you yelling Deric? It's only a game. Jeez.")
I almost wish I could just get a hoagie and a six pack and treat it like any other Sunday, but that will be impossible. Nearly everyone who is close to me will be begging to watch the game with me. I will be pacing the damn floor from sun up til game time. And I can't wait. Has it sunk in with you guys yet??!!

Every year my wife plans a Super Bowl party of about 20 people. She approached me when I got home from Arizona, and asked me what we needed for the Party....i looked at her...smiled...and said NOT A CHANCE. I need to focus on this game, not hear people talking about the commercials.

Shane, I hear ya,, but the NFC championship was all Eagles fans, and we took it to em. Besides this will be supporters only. No detractors.
