I think this is another lesson from BA about what it takes to win and to develop a winning mentality. The Cardinals' players at this point understand how to relish in the day to day process---they truly take each day one at a time (James Bettcher spoke in his recent presser how focused the defense was each day leading up to the Packer game)----and they have no intention of cutting any corners or backing down from any challenges. The have a home game versus their arch-rivals and have not won at home versus them in a few years. Beating the Seahawks at home is this week's motivation and would have been even if the #1 seed was out of reach.

Just as BA loves to roll the dice and stay aggressive late in games----this is the only way he knows how to coach and as he has said, "At this point in my career, I get to do whatever I dang well please."

Let me change this around a little is there a single team this year that loses their starting qb who has a chance at the superbowl? My guess is no but we may be the best suited to still be able to make a mini run even though I doubt we could do it also

Maybe Denver...... at this point Osweiler may be better than Peyton

Defenses stop playing the pass if we lose him. Box stacked, running game limited, need to pass to win. No faith Stanton can pull it off. Is it possible? Sure, why not? Likely? Hardly.

The idea that the other team will "stop playing the pass" if Stanton were to play is silly beyond argument. Stanton is more than capable and we will not collapse with him in there. Now if something were to happen to him, that's a completely different set of circumstances. Palmer is doubtless the best option but all is not lost, as it was last year, if he goes down. And "all was lost" because Stanton was knocked out. Do you think we'd have been beaten by Carolina if Stanton had played? No NFL team can lose their starter and function as they did before that occurred. The absence of Wilson or Newton would hurt them just as much, if not more, than the absence of Palmer. Tarvaris Jackson has thrown 14 passes in 3 years in Seattle and Derek Anderson (yes - THAT Derek Anderson) has been riding the pines in Carolina for 5 years. Drew Stanton has started 8 games for us and won 5 of them. This whole thread is nuts because were talking about what's "gloom" as opposed to what's "doom" and all hoping it never comes down to that. As hard a blow as it would be I'm not going to put my head in the oven if Palmer gets hurt. If anyone's going to come in and play Sunday instead of palmer, it should be Matt Barkley.

last season had a feel to it...even after Palmer went down I thought we could go all the way with Stanton...was not as flashy, but he was effective enough.
This years team is better than Last years team.......

but honestly, I really want to see Palmer do here what Elway did in Denver....go win a couple back to back Lombardis before he retires.

The stench of fear is thick on this board.

I cannot wait until this last game is over so every thread can stop being an argument over playing starters...

You guys crack me up. Besides I clearly :stickman: 'd the post.

Clearly Palmer gives us our best shot. In fact, he literally makes us the odds on favorite to win the Superbowl. All I'm saying is that this team has more depth then any Cardinals team I've ever seen. And it is better able to cope with ANY loss.

This was sent from my cell pjone so please excise any typeos or other errors.

What would Carolina, Seahawks, Packers, Steelers and Patriots look like without Newton, Wilson, Rodgers, Ben and Brady??
C'mon man... is this really worthy of a head?? :mulli:
