I tell the parking dude.. "Hey, im going to the movies..I dont even like the Cruds" and he lets me into the AMC parking lot.

As i drive off, i yell "I dont like em.. i LOVE THE CARDS!!!" and proceed to finding a spot at the far end of the lot. FO-FREE!

Then i go slam a few beers by the fountains at westgate.. and head over to the game.

You know, technically, we all pay for parking through the facility fee, but unless we've paid for premium parking (and no one is forced to), we don't pay any extra for our parking either.

No public transportation riders?

Is there even any public bus service to the games?

OK, since we're talking about parking, I have a question.

I am coming over this weekend from SoCal to attend my first game in a while (first at UoP). In doing my parking research, I see that a parking pass is required for all of the colored lots. Where do you buy the parking passes? Can you not just drive up to the lots and pay at the entrance and get your parking pass on the spot, like at most other places?

As I remember at SDS I used to park across the river and walk across the bridge to the game.

I have no problem paying for parking around the stadium, I just don't want to look like a fool if I try to enter a lot and don't have the required pass and can't get one there.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can set me straight.

There is no money "pay for parking" collection at the lots. Either you have a parking pass or you don't.

Parking passes come free for season ticket holders and if you would have posted this 2-3 days ago I would have given you mine, but it is spoken for now.

So, you have a few options.

1) Go to the For Sale forum and beg for a parking pass - there are many season ticket holders that just can't make this game and maybe they will give you one, but with short notice it is not likely to get in your mail in time for the game.

2) I believe there is a free parking area near the stadium - BIM, any help here?

3) You can scalp a parking pass for money. There are often scalpers around the freeway/camelback that sell parking passes.

Good luck!

Thanks for the quick response. I just found a site that has all of the Glendale traffic maps for pass holders and the two public parking lots, as well as post game.

http://www.glendalesgotgame.com/parkingmaps.html

Had I known, I would have just booked my room at the Renaissance and just walked across the street to the game.

TheHopToad - the pdf map from the link you posted is dead on. Public parking is in the lot(s) to the North of the High School on the map. There are buses, but if you used to walk across the bridge to SDS the walk is nothing. We park at the H.S. and walk to games whenever the time allows. Just take the same route as the buses along Zanjero. You'll go past Cabela's and Cracker Barrel on your way to Westgate, Jobing.com arena, and finally UOP.

A co-worker of mine always parks at Westgate and just tells the parking attendant that he's going to see a movie at the theaters. He parks, walks into the Westgate area, and just keeps going until he is at UOP. Has always worked for him.

Thanks for the advice. Last time I spent any amount of time in the west valley, none of that was there. I haven't been back home in two years and when I come back, I usually spend most of my time in Mesa, where I'm originally from.

Follow signs to BROWN LOT If open access (no fee, no pass). From there you can walk or catch a free shuttle bus.

Wow. Long drive. I know Indio. But not why it even exists. Even creosote bushes struggle to live there. :D
