Edge said our jersey belonged in the trash can.

As much as I like the idea of keeping him around I don't think I would want to root for him anymore.

I think he was saying that the jersey with his name on it belonged in the trash since he didn't think he would be on the team any longer.

We need a ground presence between the tackles.

Wells might give it to us (if available). Maybe Shonn Greene or Andre Brown as well. But none are surefire.

Frankly, I think our most dependable short term option would be to sign (use and & keep happy) Edgerrin James.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't snap up a Wells or Moreno (who weighs anywhere from 210 to 217 depending on who you believe). We're going to need a plow-horse sooner or later.

But - if I could afford him - I'd keep Edge around - at the very least for depth and leadership; or (assuming the coaching staff learned its lesson toward the end of last year) to be a very important cog in our run game).

I have to agree. I think keeping Edge for one more year and drafting defense and o-line is the way to go. I am not that excited about any of the Running-backs in this draft class. I just don't see any of them as a being any better than the Edge is now. I think we need a top pass-rusher for the defense and a center with our first two picks.

Even if we were to trade Bolden for a 1st and a third, I would still not use that number one on a RB. I think a better defense could get us back to the Superbowl and a better o-line can keep Warner healthy enough to get us there.

I thought it was interesting that Merrill Hodge has Donald Brown rated as his #1 back and says by a ways. He mentioned that he thinks he is the safest pick in the draft and that he doesn't think that Moreno will be able to hold up as a feature back in the NFL.

I don't necessarily agree with him regarding Moreno, but I thought it was interesting to hear his comments on Brown. We obviously have a better chance at landing Brown than the other 2 backs.
