Ouchie, do you really mean that? The season will be a pleasure even if it doesn't result in wins? After eight years of missing the playoffs?

I am concerned that your post opens the door to tanking once again after the first few games of next season.

I have to believe that most of our posters would not consider the season a pleasure even if it doesn't result in wins. That has been going on for too long.

Building chemistry among a revamped roster early in the season is one thing. Next year not resulting in wins .. nope!

I think Ouchie means if we have a season like this year's Lakers. Young, fun, exciting, play hard every night, win about 35 games. That's what I'm looking for.

Expecting a winning SEASON coming off the worst record in the league with still a bunch of youngins ain't realistic. But meaningful progress doesn't have to be measured by a .500 or better record. That would take a bit of a miracle and one of the biggest single season turnarounds in NBA History.

I think it's entirely possible to have a .500 season next season. Not probable as you suggest but possible. We had injuries...maybe a little tanking going on. But with a roster more healed and vastly improved (with top 4 pick) plus maybe a free agent I'd give a .500 season a 50/50 chance. :shades:

I think next season we should win somewhere in the mid 30's. That wouldn't get us to the playoffs but that's fine. Everyone would love to make the playoffs next year but I don't think it's a realistic possibility, even if we brought in Popovich as our head coach. The team needs to show development and growth next year. Losing 50 games or more would be seen as a failure of sorts because the playoffs just aren't realistic expectations, improving by 11 wins should be a possibility though.

We get Budenholzer and a couple solid vets (along with hopefully top 2 in the draft) and I wouldn't be shocked if we made the playoffs.

However, I do not want the Suns to give up a first round pick for him in this draft.

I presume any compensation has already been negotiated if any.

Didn’t McDonough say he’s gonna sign vets this summer so it won’t be just a bunch of youngins anymore?

Philly went from the 3rd worst record last year to the 5th best record this year.

They did pick up vets like JJ Redick who helped them and I hope we can find difference makers like that as well in free agency.

I watch the box score and then the condensed replay on YouTube the next day. This gives an incredibly misleading picture of the team.

they also drafted two completely changing talents. I love Book/Jackson, but they don't bring the same kind of impact to every facet of the game like Simmons or Embiid.
