How far do you think the last of the top 4 QBs will drop?

So, Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, Allen.

How far do you think one of them might drop? Are you firmly thinking they’re all gone in the top 5?

I think three go in the top 5, and one drops a little (for my money, Rosen or Allen), but is drafted by pick 10.

Bonus question: how soon will the 5th QB off the board go?

I think all 4 and Barkley will be drafted in the top 5.

I think 5 or maybe even 6 will be drafted in the 1st round.

The top 4 will be gone by 5 and maybe by 4. I’m thinking now the Cards pass on L Jackson. I’m stunned by this but I’m hearing they think Glennon can be the QB. He’s not unseating Bradford but in a year or 2 they think Glennon will develop. I’d heard they liked Alexander and I used to think he might last until round 2. Now I’m hearing a run on CBs in round 1 which means if the Cards want their choice they need to go at 15 or maybe if they get lucky a team gets nervous and jumps up for L Jackson (I appreciate the irony). If Buffalo can’t move up their 12, then they might move from 22. I hear the Steelers like LJackson also. The Cards could perhaps still get J Jackson or Hughes. They’d hope Hughes would drop to 2 but not after his Pro Day.

A week ago I was certain the Cards were locked into a QB. I certainly don’t agree on a Glennon but that would make his signing seem more sensible for me. I also think the more odd things that are associated with L Jackson are adding up. It’s still possible the Cards sell out and move up to the 4th or 5th pick. That would require a huge philosophy change for Keim. Beyond that I no longer expect a QB at 15 if the Cards keep the pick.

To me if you take position out of the equation are any of them worthy of a top 10 pick in this draft? Darnold the rest IMO have big questions surrounding them and even Darnold is a work in progress. That said I think no later then 6 they all will be off the board. So instead of trade down let's trade up a couple spots and get a top ten talent or stay put and get a top 12 talent JMO. I'm off the Jackson train and Rudolph to me screams system produced QB. Who will both alsoget drafted to high based on position mid teens to mid 20s

Mm hm. And if this is true, I want Keim gone.

Even if one slides, I think the top 4 QBs are all gone at the latest by Buffalo's pick #12... assuming Buffalo doesn't trade up to make sure they get their guy (I can see the top 5 being gone by pick 12). I wouldn't be surprised if Buffalo trades up into the 6-8 range because the teams in slots 6-10 already have a quality starting QB. Miami could also move up from pick 11 because I don't know if they're completely sold on Tannehill.

Those 6-10 teams are:
6 - Colts - QB Luck
7 - Bucs - QB J. Winston
8 - Bears - QB Trubisky
9 - 49ers - QB Garoppolo
10 - Raiders - QB Carr

It's hard to tell. Each of the top 4 or 6 QB's have flaws. They are each quite different. Many of the teams expected to pick one, also signed or traded for QB's already.

It really may depend on the order they are taken. If Broncos want the guy who goes #1, they might not take one. Same thing with the Jets, even the Bills. If each want different ones, maybe alot, but if they all want the same 1 or 2 guys, the others could drop.

I could see 4 of the first 5 picks be QB's, or only 2-3 taken before we pick and as low as 4 in the whole first round.

There could also be surprises. Maybe Rudolph or Jackson are selected as the 3rd or 4th QB taken overall. Or maybe someone like Lauletta sneaks into the first round over Jackson or Rudolph. It's possible.

It's going to be interesting to see. But if expectations hold, I agree the top four should be taken by the 12th-13th pick.

From those around the organization, or scouts outside the organization?

Trying to pick up any hints of a smokescreen. Might end up choking myself to death instead.

This really makes me wonder about their ability to accurately assess the QB position.

I no longer have sources inside the Cards’ hierarchy. This came from comments about the Cards making a round 1 trade. I never pinpoint a source, but it’s always scouts unless I say otherwise. Sometimes it’s the press or a couple of guys in other teams’ hierarchies. This was what 2 scouts heard in their pre-draft conferences. I guess everyone knows most teams do mock drafts.

All gone in top ten
+1.

Unknown factor: The continued pressure to trade up.

For example - 2 teams get in a battle to draft Rudolph or L Jackson - that could put additional pressure to trade up into the top 10.

You don't need 6 or 7 teams to create overdrafting pressure. All it takes are a couple of teams who love a prospect.

I make the range 5 to 15.

The Browns and Jets are going quarterback.

What will the Giants do at #2? They should be taking their quarterback of the future.

The Broncos are the next wild card. A two year contract isn't a total commitment to Case Keenum. Elway has shown interest in Josh Allen.

If the Giants and Broncos don't go quarterback, then the Dolphins and Bills don't have to trade up.

The scenario where I see the Cardinals getting one of the top four is: Browns - Darnold, Bills trade up to get Rosen/Allen, Jets take Allen/Rosen and Mayfield then slides all the way to the Cardinals. But that requires pretty much everybody else having a significant red flag on Mayfield based on character concerns.

I think if mayfield slips to 10 I can see the cards trading up with the raiders to grab him. I don’t see them trading up with anyone higher. I wonder what it would cost to move up 5 slots? Please cards do not take josh Allen. I can’t stand the thought of having a qb that has to learn accuracy.
