How long do players have to keep wearing pink?

it was kind of appropiate for our team to wear pink last week anyway,but i'm guessing its for womans breast cancer or heart disease or something since every team wears them
so how long

I'm all for supporting the cause, but a quarter of the season wearing pink is overkill in my opinion. A pink ribbon on be jersey would be plenty or go all out for one game. It'll look strange when we look back at highlights for the season.

They did it last season too and they only did it for the 1st 2 weeks of the month so teams that had a bye could participate. As far as I know they aren't making the players do it so I don't have a problem with it.

yeah the color scheme fits in ours a least a little but i have seen a lot of teams like the above where them hats ain't gonna sell at the souvenir shop

I'm almost certain they don't sell the pink merch, since the only person I know that has any got his from an NFL player. To be honest, they should, and contribute a portion of the sales to breast cancer charities. It'd be a great cause, and something that might sell a little.

Uh, you don't have to look very hard to find NFL Breast Cancer Awareness merchandise... right at the top of the NFL home page, there's a "Why Pink" link to a page (nfl.com/pink!)where you can "Bid Now on Pink Items" - game-worn and autographed merchandise.

Even more obvious, the NFL Shop is utterly awash in pictures of and links to pink Breast Cancer Awareness merchandise - for example, this page with about 20 Cardinals-specific items.

Those of us who have been close to women who have battled breast cancer understand and I believe strongly support the wearing of pink. Those who haven't don't get it. They have no idea how it affects you and the woman in your life who has the cancer.

I believe the reason behind "a whole lot of pink" (instead of a low-keyed ribbon or other icon) is to make the challenge of breast cancer hard to ignore (because we see pink every where we turn).

It seems very effective. (It might be more disturbing if the strategy was being used to sell tacos or fast-food burgers, but given the cause, it's fine).

Shouldn't the NFL/etc do a full blitz on prostate and testicular cancers? Which is an area that the NFL has the greatest reach for those effected by it?

thats the general observation i just made,anyway i just wanted to know whats up so lets not start slinging stones here,
i think the question has been answered to my satisfaction and i hope everybody elses, so the mods can lock the thread from my point of view anyway,it doesn't have much to do with football or the cards anymore

That could get a little awkward. What do you suggest teams do to their uniforms to bring awareness to testicular cancer? A pink ring around the crotch?

BTW Men get breast cancer too. ALL cancer is evil. Hopefully raising awareness for one type raises awareness for all types.
