Just a little brain food. Time to enjoy watching Mike Vick and Hakeem The Dream Nicks play some football.

Not too mad because I was at that game and it was fun laughing at the Raider fans.

Wouldnt be the first time one play has cost us a higher draft pic.. But we ended up with Fitz .. So I never really care cuz things can shake out different than what is expected..

That game is a lot easier to take than this one.

Of course, Archie probably would have prevented Peyton from coming here, anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter so much.

It's time to get back on removing the curse, I actually thought it might not exist, but with like 1:47 seconds left in the SB it has decided to assert itself.

Someone uncurse us or it's pointless.

He would have pouted and forced a trade, just like he did to the Chargers.

That's not true. Manning and his family were contacted by someone with the team and were told that they didn't want to go there because of problems within the organization. This was while Schottenheimer and GM AJ Smith were fighting over control of the organization.

Roll that around your mouth. What do you suppose would have happened had we drafted Eli Manning.
Easy. We would have cut him. His QB ratings his first four years were 55.4, 75.9, 77.0 and 73.9...and that was on some good football teams. Now if we had drafted Roethlisberger or Rivers, maybe better, since they were statistically better and Roethlisberger had more success. Point being, Gee's point holds true and yours is loser BS.

Ahem...this was the AZ Cardinals the team with one winning season since they moved to AZ. Wanna talk about problems? The Chargers problems were tiny compared to ours.

It doesn't even matter. He isn't the most successful QB out of the first round. We passed on him (the most successful QB from that draft) and another pretty damned good QB. We weren't drafting a QB unless Fitz was gone and even then Green was hinting that he would take Sean Taylor or Kellen Winslow. Beating the Vikings didn't f up our draft.

The game was on at work and I was ecstatic when he shanked it. But in light of our last 5 weeks and our QB situation that shank doesn't quite hold the same value to me anymore. Andrew Luck could be the difference between this team turning it around or being a bottom feeder for another decade or two. Such is life as a Cards fan I guess.

Planning your future on the draft is what losers do. I hate losing. Good teams draft well late in rounds and build through FA. I wanna be good.

Ask the Redskins how that whole 'building through free agency' strategy has worked out for them. Good teams build through the draft and replace players that leave in free agency with young talent, because they draft well..throughout the entire draft. How often do you see the Patriots or Colts or Steelers making big name free agent acquisitions? Not very often. The Cardinals, however, have done a good job signing two of those teams washed up players in free agency.

How often have you seen the Patriots or Colts or Steelers drafting earlier than us? Not very often.

Guess I should clarify. Im not looking for big splashes in FA, thats rarely good anymore. Im looking for smart, depth building in FA and amazing late-in-the-round drafting. Course, you gotta win to draft late in a round. It just burns me to start hoping for a loss for a better draft position. Thats pathetic to me.

Not very often, because when their teams do suck they cash in those picks with pro bowl players and franchise QB's. Draft well -> Don't suck. That's why in a draft that really has one elite QB and everyone else, that shank could come back and haunt us. Trust me, I absolutely hate losing at anything, which includes seeing my sports teams lose. I would hate seeing Larry Fitz run out of town because we don't have a competent QB on the roster in 2011 a lot more than I would hate losing a messy game in a messy season vs Oakland.

Super. That's the issue. Drafting well and making the most of your free agents. Not being dbag losers and choosing to lose on purpose. They don't do that.

I'm not saying we should lose on purpose, I am just saying that I will be mighty pissed off if a game we had no business winning screws us out of drafting Luck.
