Penn State football continued to add to its list of draft picks during the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay. The Nittany Lions will likely have two of their own hear their names called within the first 20 picks, while eight more players wait to see who their next team may be.
Edge rusher Abdul Carter was first on opening night, going quickly, as expected, while tight end Tyler Warren, who is coveted by multiple teams, could go most anywhere in the first round.
There's also a number of defensive players, from KJ Winston to Jalen Kimber to Coziah Izzard, that may hear their names called before the draft concludes on Saturday.
This year's draft class could shape up to be one of the best under head coach James Franklin, who had eight players selected last year. (The school record for a seven-round draft is 10 picks in 1996.)
Here's what you need to know about each of the players picked in the 2025 NFL Draft:
Abdul Carter went third overall to the New York Giants, the highest Penn State selection since running back Saquon Barkley − a No. 2 pick by these Giants seven years ago.
Carter’s impressive move from linebacker to edge rusher last year only accentuated his mass NFL appeal: As in how the best is yet to come for the generational talent still learning his role. In just one season as a full-time pass-rusher, Carter led all FBS defenders in tackles for loss.
The consensus All-American combines superior quickness and explosion off the line of scrimmage with a relentless game motor.
Carter is Penn State's top defensive line draft pick in 25 years − since Courtney Brown went No. 1 to the Cleveland Browns.
