It's preseason dude... As Iverson once said, "it's Practice man... Practice...".

He can throw for 300 yards and 3 TD's and it won't mean squat. One day he'll get his chance again when W's actually count. We'll know then if Matty is legit, or just another hyped up, highly drafted flunky...

I'll remember this post if he has a poor half or game in the preseason and the board and the usual suspects start the meltdown. ;)

Good idea... I always laugh at those who get worked up (for both good and bad reasons) during preseason... History shows time and again that what happens in the preseason means zilcho... wake me up come 9/13th!

As long as we stay healthy I'll be happy.
Priority #1. No injuries.
who wouldn't be psyched

I'm such a sick freak that I'm mildly thrilled with the HOF game tonight.
Absolutley. I DVR'd the game and about halfway through the third quarter I'm sitting there on the edge of the couch watching Patrick Ramsey and suddenly it dawns on me just how football-starved I've been. I might just have a watching party on Thursday.

I can't wait to see Cody Brown and Will Davis either. They are two guys that I'll keep a bulls-eye on all night long.

I hate preseason only worry about injuries. I am psyched for the 1st regular season game. But I am looking forward to a clean healthy game Thursday.

Excited for the 1st quarter, luke warm on the 2nd, and will simply tivo the 2nd half. As noted above, dodging the injury bug is key

Here is an example of why I like to watch pre season games: I was really excited about getting Darryl Blackstock with the 95th pick in 2005. He was rated in the top 75 by the Huddle Report.

Then I watched him play in a pre season game and he looked like he was running in mud. I knew then the guy wasn't what we thought he was and tuned down my enthusiasm accordingly.

Funny you bring up Blackstock. I was excited for him as well due to his dominance in the ACC and all the credentials he brought to PHX. Then, as you said, I watched him in the preseason and he was hands down the slowest player on the field. It was so discouraging.

I've never been into watching preseason games except one or two of the Steelers every year.

I just want to see how the new guys play and hope at least one deep ball is thrown to Limas Sweed (he dropped a sure touchdown pass against San Diego and another against Baltimore in the playoffs).

ya know

not only will the preseason be forgotten by halftime of the first regular season game --

the first preseason game is forgotten by the end of the second preseason game

injuries are what I am really concerned with

Not for hard core fans. Most of us still remember the 2003 Cards going 4-0 in preseason and have never wanted the Cards to win all their preseason games since.

And I'm sure those who were there will never forget the Steelers game in 2006. The first game ever played in the new stadium. I know the Steelers fan that sat next to AZCards21 will never forget it. :D

Like most that have posted, I worry about injuries. I am more pumped that the first preseason game means that the season is about a month away! I will watch to see how well our back ups can do. Looking a lot a special teams especially the return game. I would love to see someone take that away from Breaston, so he can concentrate on receiving.

One good thing about preseason, if we get beat it is no big deal (it is just preseason) if we win, great.

With this crazy football team its almost better if they don't win. McGinnis was 10-2 in preseason. Whisenhunt is 2-6. :D

Who is carrying the game live?

I noted that the replay is on the NFL Network, Saturday 13:00 EST.

I just hope the starting unit of the OLine looks like the have played together together before. Or at least like they have played football before.

That and I hope Leinart is decent.

I thought I saw ESPN was carrying it live. NFL.com has a tv schedule on their site somewhere

I'm going to be seeing Harrison and Holmes' TDs for the rest of life, so I might as well not let them stop me from watching anything. I'd be more interested in Thursday's game if Wells were playing, but it'll be good to see all the new guys, and to see how Leinart looks. I know there's not as much on the line, but Leinart's whole problem has been allegedly not showing his best to Whiz' staff in the preseason. Maybe this year is a turning point.

The $64,000 question is: Has Leinart not been showing his best or did he just lose out to a former SuperBowl champion QB playing at an MVP level?

For instance, how would like to be a first baseman in the St.Louis Cardinals farm system?

ESPN carries it live at 8pm ET,7 CT, plus they have the NFL Countdown show on for one hour before that 7-8 PM ET and might actually talk about the Cardinals for a couple minutes since they are one of the teams playing. I expect about 20 minutes on the Stealers, 2-3 minutes on the Cardinals, and the rest devoted to Michael Vick, the Cowboys, and T.O.

The NFL champs have earned 20 minutes. If the Cards would have won it, I would expect no less. The runners up can have 10. The rest of the show can fall off a cliff.
I'll be skipping the whole thing. At this point, I feel better informed than what ESPN could help me with anyway.
