i think were starting to reach our stride at just the right time division champs is great and all but i want it all and i want it now,

how deep you think were going? i know were going to win our home playoff game my hats off to all my Arizonans of which i used to be one sitting at sweat devil stadium

you have given us a true home field advantage
i want a conference championship game i want to shake up the world. the titans and the cards playing for it all and us holding that damn elusive trophy we have broken so many curses this year

and game planning coaching and preparation along with conditioning are gonna take us a long way i think
all in all were pretty healthy

and the healthiest team that's reaching its stride and starting to believe in itself excites the hell out of me
look at bertrand berry on the sidelines last week he was like a kid on christmas morning but do you think he's satisfied?
no he wants it all too we have a great mix of young talent and veteran leadership on this team and i look forward to the next two months were in

and i think any team iin the league is gonna have a hell of a time knocking us out
GO BIG RED! GO RED SEA! GO ALL THE DAMN WAY !!!

I worry about travelling to NY. Seriously, that's my personal nightmare. Other than that I think we could beat just about any other team in the NFC if we play perfect ball.

I like your spirit, but I'm afraid a SB appereance by a team that:

A. Has no running game at all
B. Has a defense led by Clancy Preventghast
C. Has an offensive coordinator that basically calls the same game week after week after fricking week.

Can be filed under: Happening-not-gonna.

Here's hoping for a huge plate of crow in a few weeks.

It could be our year. But I think 2009 will be the year the Car*s really contend. Just look at the progression:

2006 the Car*s went from a joke (2003-2005) to being very competitive and only losing games in remarkable fashion kept them from a respectable season.

2007 the team moved to 8-8 and finished strong the last half of the season going 5-3, scoring 247 points and generating 2,951 yards of offense. They capped the season with a 48-19 thrashing of the Rams. The kind of finish you see often from teams moving up the ladder in the NFL.

2008 the Car*s are taking care of business by beating the weak teams, no more losing to the worst team in the NFL every year, winning consistently at home and taking the division title. This will give them the playoff experience every NFL team needs to make a serious run at the big one.

By God we're the Jefferson's of the NFL :koolaid:

I won't go so far as to say "this is the Cardinals year". But go to the Cardinals official site and watch the video, Hoping Division Title is Just a Start.

Contrary to Colin Cowherd's opinion (see: http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/f4/flat-performance-124858.html ) the Cardinals are not satified with having made the playoffs. Whisenhunt has got this team's focused and wanting more than "one and done."

Personally, I am very anxious to see how the Cardinals perform this week, the remainder of the regular season and into the playoffs!

The one game that would make me extremely nervous would be against the Giants in NY. Having said that the Cards are a very dangerous team and have the ability to beat anyone IF the D picks it up

Talk to me after NEXT Sunday.

Every team (including ones on the outside looking in like Philly) should feel good about their ability to get hot and make a run down the stretch ala team like the 07 Giants and 05 Steelers.

I could see us doing it but Warner has to return to 1st 6 games Kurt and Rolle and DCR need to keep progressing.

At that point its all matchups. But if we lose one or both of these next games I would say we are not long for the playoffs.

I completely agree about the Giants. That being said I do feel that if a few things fall our way we can beat anyone. There is not a team in the playoffs that absolutely no doubt about it we can not beat!

Ya'll have a lot more faith than I do.

I'll give us a pretty decent shot against anyone in our home play-off game. I haven't seen anything out of us that tells me we can win on the road, especially if we have to play any of the following teams on the road in January:

1 NY
2. GB
3. Chicago
4. Philly
5. DC

Didn't Urban point out that we lost every game played over the last 5 someodd years when the temp was below 40?

I love our passing game, but I don't ever recall seeing a team with no running game and a suspect defense win in cold weather. I just haven't seen it.

Hoping very much that I'm wrong,

Go Cards!!!

Pretty much this.

For the Cards to win in January on the road, it's going to take a game with a couple big-play offensive scores, and the defense coming up with several turnovers. It's certainly possible, what with the defense's ability to force turnovers.

Cardinals 21, Giants 13, featuring a 70 yard TD pass to Arrington and a Hightower run off of a long Fitzgerald jump-ball, and a Rolle INT for TD in the waning seconds to cap the victory.

Man, would I ever like to see that.

Quite honestly, I haven't thought too much about it. I think this weeks game against the Vikings could speak volumes about who we are.
Then we travel to New England. Another game that could define exactly who we are.

I really want to see at least a 10-6 record going into the playoffs. This is the time to build momentum and I don't believe that can be done losing 2 out of the next 3 games.

I also haven't worried about who we might play or when we might play them. We can all worry about going to New York but there is no garauntee THEY are going to get there. Worry is interest paid on something that may never happen.

I'm taking it 1 game at a time and savoring every minute of it!

I have a crazy feeling that the Giants are going to stumble down the stretch. That will truly give it a wide open feel going into the NFC playoffs.

The Giants were 3-5 in New York last season

Lost their last 4 at home.

New York's such a rough place to play even the home team can't win there in November and December.

Yea, I've got that feeling. Gotta reign myself in all the time now. But, New York is the only conference team that scares me.

:bang: I agree with what SoCal said! Contact me again after the Cold night in New England. Not that any of what SoCal said will change much, but I might be feeling a bit better about things.

Don't get me wrong and this weeks game against Minnesota is huge, but the game @New England should tell me everything I need to know about this team.

That's how I look at it too. I'm enjoying a ride we've never had before. Worrying about who or when or how we get knocked out of the playoffs is an attitude I just cannot understand.

This week and next week.

We do well - and I'll blissfully dream of the Super Bowl. (Okay, maybe I"m dreaming already.) We should beat the Vikings here. And establish once and for all that Warner - not AP - is the MVP.

But next week in New England will show a lot. Play well, we'll do okay in the playoffs. Win - and, well, anything's possible.

Right now I just want to finish 11 and 5.

I don't think we will make the superbowl this year just cause our defense and running game is still a big question mark, but if our offense really catches on fire during the playoffs than who knows it may happen. I want to see us play well on sunday and beat the vikings with Jackson starting at qb we should if the right cards team shows up. But it should be a great run in the playoffs and right now i'm just happy we won the division and are in its been a lifetime waiting for it to happen. GO CARDS 2008 DIVISION CHAMPS

IF the chips all land in our favor--we somehow get the 2 seed and the 1 seed gets knocked out, or if we're 3 or 4 and the higher seeds get knocked out--then yeah, I see us making a serious run. If we have to go on the road in the playoffs, though...yikes.

We CAN get to the superbowl, despite our weaknesses.

The NY Giants are not as powerful as some are making them out to be, especially with Plax gone and Jacobs limping (at best) through the post season.

No one else in the NFC really scares me. They can all be beaten if we don't turn the ball over, hold on special teams, and play average defense.

The AFC, however, is a different story. Pitt, Tenn, Indy, are all superior to the Giants, IMO. But again, if we play our game (see above) we beat them.

A super bowl victory is not as far fetched as your common sense would lead you to believe.

Ask yourself this:

Are the Giants a far superior team to the Cardinals, than the Patriots were to them last season?

The answer of course is a resounding NO!

Si se puede!

How can we be reaching our stride after losing 2 out of 3 of our last games? We win the next three, then we will be reaching our stride, at just the right time.
